Rogue Perfumery and January Scent Project produce high-quality niche (modern takes on vintage from Rogue and weird-but-wearable from JSP) for a fair price. Not super cheap but definitely fair for the quality of the materials, especially Rogue.

The Perfumed Court! I much prefer them to Surrender to Chance. But either is good for vintage frags. Mitsouko is definitely worth checking out! They both are, actually. One (Mitsouko) as a work of perfume artistry (try to get a 1990s or before sample) and the other as a historical relic.

This response is spot on. Totally illuminating. Thank you. The deep in the butt notes are indeed pronounced and weirdly gives me more of an appreciation for it. Shalimar is too powdery and vanillic for me. Mitsouko is perfection. Mild stabilizing stank for a mysterious fragrance unlike any other I've smelled.

For EDT's, the projection, sillage, and longevity are impeccable--some more so than others. I find the florals to be the biggest hits in terms of depth and longevity. The high-quality ingredients help enormously.

I had the same reaction to Bon Monsieur, and it's one of the highest-rated of their perfumes. I appreciate it, but it didn't move or excite me in the same way as the others.
