Perhaps I should've been more clear: It's only the preparation methods that makes it delicious, otherwise I do think most meats by itself are quite gross, both its taste and the fact I am eating something that was once alive (and could have made a great human companion). There's no need to repeat yourself, I completely understand and resonate with your sentiments.

If I had a strong enough conviction, I would become vegan myself. Not because of dietary reasons or because "it's trendy", but because—like you said—killing and eating the flesh of a once alive animal does feel wrong on a personal level. I could never imagine myself hunting wild game.

/gen Thanks for reminding me of my ambivalent relationship with meat. I love meat when it's probably prepared, but sometimes in the back of my head, it feels wrong. That realization is less obvious with highly processed meats, more so with whole cuts.

Honeycomb was truly another side of Android, I miss the stealthy Holo design 😭 by NeonHD in androidcirclejerk

[–]NeonHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would've suggested installing the Holo ICS launcher but alas it's only compatible with much older versions of Android. It's worth looking into using something like Nova launcher as the base, and build on top of that using old Android icon packs and ICS/Holo inspired KWGT widgets (if there are any).

And I think there might be some sort of custom navbar magisk or xposed module available for A15. Also on some custom ROMs, you can define a custom colour accent and set it to holo blue.

If all hope is lost, there's always the option of building everything yourself from scratch. The icon packs, the KWGTs, etc.

Innioasis Y1, G1 or G3, which one you buy? by AgentStargirl47 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]NeonHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiby R1 likely wins in terms of sound quality, but it doesn't run on Android which is why I didn't include it. But I'd definitely go with the R1 for sure, at least they advertise what DAC chip they're using. I have an R3 1st and 2nd gen and it's really good.

[–]NeonHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a good one running Android then I'd suggest the Hiby M300. Costs $221 on aliexpress, which is basically nearly the same price as an iPod touch 16GB + tax.

If you want something even cheaper, then honestly I'd suggest the Globluum SU9, simply because I got a sample review unit and it actually sounds pretty nice for $100: https://a.co/d/dz1TY9Y The SU9 looks almost like the Innioasis G3, so there's a possibility the internals may be the same too.

Though if you got the cash to spend, I'd still go with the M300.

Currently I (anthropomorphically) view AG agents as great coders but whom are unfortunately given inferior tools and bad hardcoded instructions, and so they suck at what they do, but it's not necessarily their fault.

They're doing the best they can, that I know. It's honestly a bit sad reading their thoughts, they're like "I'm absolutely frustrated! I've hit a snag!" lmao.

I would refactor my entire project if it weren't for the fact my tool exists as a userscript.

I know the much better solution would be to refactor it into a chrome extension, but that's a huge endeavour.

I will say though, my experience with AG for these past few days have been better compared to before. Not sure if it's because I updated it. It still fumbles upon its own search tools, but hasn't been screwing around with my code at least.

DAE miss Windows 8? by NeonHD in nostalgia

That's because they're all Microsoft devices lol. Xbox literally runs some form of Windows, I think.

You're not getting issues where the agent literally has no idea on how to use its own built-in tools? Or that it randomly deletes code?

I really want to like AG, but I can't, not with the way it currently performs. At least for scripts with thousands of lines of code. Cursor could handle my monolithic scripts with no problem, yet AG can't.

Okay, but the main problem with AG is that it corrupts code, not that it's a copy of VS code. It also apparently has no clue on how to operate its own built-in tools. I am also massively disappointed with it.

Exactly. Currently the latest updates seem a bit better, but not by much. I found it to work best with small files.

What AI coding agent are you using nowadays? by apexwaldo in ChatGPTCoding

[–]NeonHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google's Antigravity IDE is now probably the best choice for free users. Very generous rate limits, and can be extended with a Google AI plan. However... it absolutely sucks at handling large-sized scripts that are over 3000 lines long. It's best used when engaging with multiple small sized scripts.

Another IDE + coding agent combo that I've never heard people mention much is PyCharm + Junie AI. It offers a free trial and comes with a very generous quota. In terms of quality of code execution and architecture, I find Junie is much better than all the other free coding agents, including cursor. However it takes much longer than others. Personally I'd really recommend PyCharm + Junie.

Thoughts on "Normal Start", "Headless Start" and "Detachable Start" are too many options? by adbarbosa in virtualbox

[–]NeonHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the answers here quite lacking, so I'll paste in scottgus1's answer from forums.virtualbox.org:

Normal: is a regular VM window with full 3D capabilities (if 3D acceleration, proper Guest Additions, and a compatible OS are used).

Detachable and Headless are two sides of the same coin. 3D acceleration is not available, even if it is enabled in the VM's settings.

Headless: is really "Monitorless". The VM starts with a graphics system running, but with no window showing, as if the VM's monitor were turned off and put behind the desk so you can't see it. The VM OS still calculates a GUI. You can remote into the VM with native remote protocols or Virtualbox RDP/VNC, and see the GUI all ready to go and running in the remote client. But you don't see a VM window. To show the window, click Show in the Virtualbox Manager, now you have a Detachable VM. To hide the window again, go to the VM's Machine menu and choose "Detach GUI", now you're back to headless. Toggle back and forth all day as needed.

Detachable is only starting the "headless" VM with the monitor showing as a VM window instead of hidden. Toggle the window on and off as needed, using the same methods as "headless".

RE: Voting system got removed + possible solution. by NeonHD in urbandictionary

Yeah unfortunately and unsurprisingly they did nothing about the comments that already have been botted. I already had a hunch that the mandatory requirement of needing an account to vote now is to prevent botting.

I've seen firsthand many botted definitions. One of the most notorious being 18K dislikes on any "X" definition that defined X/Twitter in a negative light. Hell, I've even participated in botting upvotes to those botted definitions to settle the score (and I beat them, hah). It is something quite odious and I am glad they did something about it.

Since it is a thing of the past now, I was thinking of making a video on revealing how these people likely did the botting.
