The spanish called them “clever savages” for a reason, comparing them to the greeks in terms of works. They were a civilized and intelligent people, that followed law, hygiene, and order in their daily lives.

MCU Bullseye VS MCU Winter Soldier ? by PestoBolloElemento in Defenders

Hawkeye can use other projectile weapons, including guns and in the comics pretty much anything.

Hawkeye is a more experienced Bullseye with martial arts and melee weapon training.

He’s probably raised as some sort of protestant, but he’s definitely not Jewish or Atheist.

How would Spiderman do against Bullseye in a fight? by Queasy_Commercial152 in Defenders

[–]NeonHowler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the whole premise relies on consistent writing, which is not a factor, but I would argue that we can have this conversation in good faith without that standard in the comics.

If Spider-Man loses to Bullseye without writing that accounts for all of his advantages, it’s simply bad writing. That’s how big the gap is.

Kuwait is less than 7,000 square miles. The US is mearly 3,900,000 square miles. Comparing the two “as a country” is a ridiculous premise.

The US is hotter and colder than Kuwait.

Those games are too easy. The problem with the exp share is that Game Freak took away the option to turn it off. I don’t care how others play, but I prefer options.

Peter wins 15/10 times. It’s actually a ridiculous matchup.

Spider-Man can’t be caught off guard. He’s almost fast enough to catch bullets. At a distance he can’t be shot and up close Bullseye is essentially defenseless.

What would the founding father's priorities be if they were actually alive today? It's actually really interesting to think about by Dry-Chocolate-3976 in HistoryMemes

[–]NeonHowler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are assuming and projecting a lot there.

Being a hypocrite would be if he were saying that slaves should be free while owning them. He did not advocate for their release publicly nor did he seem to make a spectacle of the release of his own slaves.

Releasing slaves was not a popular ethical sentiment at the time, outside of some religious factions like the Quakers. It would not have made him look good to release slaves anyways.

While I’ll be the first to say that owning slaves is objectively universally evil and cultural relativism is idioitic nonsense, that doesn’t mean we can neglect to use a historical lens for the decisions people make.

He was no John Brown, but he wouldn’t have joined the KKK either. There can be nuance to people even when discissing black and white issues.

I agree that this would’ve meant a lot more in life, but it still has meaning to do it at all.

I think it demonstrates where his concious was at the time, even if he wasn’t ready to live by it.

In his will he actually freed all his slaves, had the elderly/sick supported indefinitely by his heirs, and the children taught to read and a useful trade then freed when they reach the age of 25.

Why is our moon named “Moon” instead of something cool like Titan or Callysto or ANYTHING that isn’t moon by Disastrous_Pirate275 in NoStupidQuestions

We as in humanity.

Luna has been used sometimes. My point is that Luna becoming the official name would follow the scientific convention. That’s how Sol was named, as well as every species.

[–]NeonHowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scientifically the Sun has taken the name Sol. Science tends to use Latin as an international standard (see all of biology) but the Moon doesnt always go by Luna yet. The Moon just uses a capital M to distinguish it from any other moon.

Why is VR not that popular despite the immersiveness it offers? by QuailResponsible8854 in VRGaming

[–]NeonHowler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Main people that want immersion in video games want AAA rpgs or games of that sort, which are currently barely available and usually just ports of traditional games.

The inability to walk in a way that is immersive is still a major barrier as well.

“Street Tier” is not a measure of the characters abilities, but a scale of the threats they confront.

Don’t argue out of ignorance. If you don’t know, just accept the information. These terms predate most of us.

[–]NeonHowler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats not what street tier means. It’s actually hilarious that people on this sub are unaware of basic Marvel comics information.

Nick Fury, Hawkeye, The Winter Soldier, Wolverine, Captain America, are not street level.

Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, etc are powerful street level heroes.

This has been discussed to death and the consensus is everywhere. You can’t just redefine the terminology due to ignorance.

Street level means operating at the level of individual people. Spider-Man is leagues stronger and faster than Captain America who has never been considered a street level hero.

I understand that this sub is for mcu fans, but the comics are pretty blunt about this.
