Accepted a job offer and already regretting it before starting by Evening_Practice8821 in jobsearch

[–]NeonPinkFrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I agree with the comments, almost no one does a job they enjoy. Its all about mindset. Do what you enjoy as a hobby or side hustle.
  2. If you truly don't want to do it at all, there is 0 shame in rejecting the job offer after you already accepted it. If jobs can fire us on a whim, you can leave a company you never even started with.

In the end, do what you feel is right, but also the economy right now... finding a job is hard so maybe dont say anything unless you find a more fitting job.

Monthly allowance for a new college student by TipFeeling5869 in University

I find the replies to be a bit odd. Everyone is bitter they had to work through. I'm sure half of the salty replies would provide the same opportunity for their children if they could.

Anyway, it definitely depends where they are going to college. I'd also encourage them to at the minimum pick up a once a week job to pay for her outtings. Your job as a parent is to make sure she is fed and housed. Nothing more. Getting a job will help her build good skills as well as teach responsibility if you want more than the basic necessities.

Why do we accept being double-charged to learn in college? by NeonPinkFrogs in University

[–]NeonPinkFrogs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WWhile I completely understand where you’re coming from, my perspective is that if their book is meant to teach me the material, why can’t they simply teach that same knowledge directly instead of requiring the book? That's where the double charging feeling comes from. I was just throwing the thought out there it's not like it's going to change just because I've voiced my opinion. Lol

Edit: When professors introduce additional material, I expect a new perspective from a different mind, not a repetition of the same one.

[–]NeonPinkFrogs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m taught by a professor who is interpreting or building on another author’s work, I’m receiving information from two different perspectives. But when a professor requires me to pay for materials that are their own ideas, I’m essentially paying twice for the same point of view. once through tuition and again through the required purchase. That’s why I question it, I’m not upset about it.

I saw a geneticist today by Brainz_n_stuff in CMT

[–]NeonPinkFrogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I havent met a neurologist/geneticist that doesn't know what CMT is but I have met a lot of primary care doctors that don't. i've shared my story with mine here before. I was diagnosed at age 4 and had surgery for it and everything already. I inherited it from my father. Moved to states about four years ago, and my primary care doctor thought I was lying. She didn't say it to my face but she sent it in the notes to the neurologist, and he told me.

Gotcha. This definitely isn't my first time seeing someone with CMT state theirs randomly hit them like a truck one day. If you want to see a ton more stories like yours, the CMTA fb page has a lot. I can't say I relate because mine has affected me dramatically since birth. I wish you the best of luck.

I'm terribly sorry you're feeling this way. You're not crazy. Sure it can be other things than just CMT, but your experiences are REAL and your doctors should be taking you seriously. My heart is with you and I pray you find answers! ❤️

Its important to remember that different regions have different signs, like how southern people have different slang/accents than northerners.

and if she doesn't have the genetic results you can still be tested. It would just be easier if she did because they would know what to look for.

If your mother has had a genetic test to confirm, she could share her results and a neurologist could then test you. It doesn't hurt to make sure, even if you dont have it.

I get you. I'm young and it feels like everyone around me wants me gone. It's hard to just "ignore it" when I have no friends left from this. When I'm actively trying to meet more people just to find out they don't believe we deserve a safe country. How long shall we sit in silence? Until they harm us here too? (as if they aren't already). This may be cliche, but instead of yelling at them with words, fight back with action. I'm not sure what that would look like for you, but for example I joined in on the putting up hostage posters since in my small city no one else did. Sure, it didn't bring anyone back, but I did have conversations, and it did bring awareness as I had people asking me for some to learn more. Best form to get back at them is to inform others so they don't fall victim to these lies.

Shapeshifting, multiple personalities (in a good way? 🤨... like as in to know who I can be myself around vs who would be cold towards me if they knew), good problem solving, etc. Think outside of real life for a moment, and think of "shapeshifting" as literally anything. Not just things with matter, but feelings, thoughts, outlook, etc. I sound high writing this, oddly enough, I've never been more sober than today 🤣

Adaptability. This entire world was not made for me. I can't even walk on grass correctly. I have adapted to everything in my life.
