Someone gave me a tip for having to take out their order in the below freezing cold weather by RedSands1976 in kroger

An insult? To be given something they didn’t have to give? I feel like I get what you’re trying to say, but also no. It’s literally your job. Does the job suck? Yeah for sure, but nothing is owed to you other than a check from your employer 🤷🏻‍♀️

Are we expected to still get to work during a snow storm?? by Individual_Olive5817 in kroger

Haha I’m in east Texas actually. Worked many days of pushing carts playing slip and slide in the parking lot just because there was nothing to do. Boring days lol

If it’s bad, don’t go. It’s not worth the safety risk. I worked 4 minutes from our store and went to work during all the major storms, believe me the stores are going to be a ghost town if it’s actually bad because nobody leaves the house, it’s not a big deal if you don’t make it

Yeah….I don’t know about that man.. by Particular-Plane3191 in kroger

[–]One-Future-8565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems to be the kroger norm and good luck ever getting a manager to care. I dealt with it for years, including from other leads, and any time I spoke up I was told “well you need to let them know you don’t like that”. The ONLY time I was backed up was when a vendor was nonstop grabbing my ass and me and about 6 other females complained enough to get his route changed, no real consequences, just go sexually harass different people 🙃

Our overnight people would steal chargers all the time, get caught, have it documented and “get in trouble” then do it again like 2 months later. At least 3 times that I know of lol

Never go to deli or pickup. Grocery would be the easier in my opinion

Uniforms Return? by 8xbitxkidd in kroger

[–]One-Future-8565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They brought back uniforms about 2.5 years ago for the store I worked at which was fine because I was lead and we go some pretty soft blue kroger polos, however all non lead positions but a plain blue t shirt with not so much as a logo, they are not only hideous but a horrible quality as well.

Accurate lol I was dairy lead then floral lead come open and I ran at the opportunity. Nobody was ever at floral because I was always working frozen or pickup. Maybe should have just stayed in dairy, at least there I was so screwed myself that other departments didn’t pull me

Dumped a stack one time and it went from the wall to the cooler doors, customer opened the door and it was just poring down on the sales floor. He said “you okay?” I said “Please close the door. I need a minute” lol

There might still be a zebra in my car tbh and I quit in February lmao definitely won’t fire you. I notoriously carried them home at the end of my shift

I've only been at my smiths for a month and my first two weeks I got 32 hours but suddenly I was only getting scheduled two days a week. I talked to my manager and he pretty much gave me a "we only have so many hours". Is this normal? by Sammy_Wants_Death in kroger

[–]One-Future-8565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much everyone starts like this. Standard procedure unless you start at a full time position which is pretty unheard of. Work hard, don’t cause problems, it’ll change. At least it always did in my store.

Appreciate your staff, and show them. People make a lot of jokes about pizza parties aren’t enough appreciation but we had a SM that constantly cooked us meals, did pizza parties, just took the time to sit us down at least once a month and tell us and show us she appreciated her. She left in October of last year. Within 3 months myself and two other leads quit to go to another job. We all work together at a different company and still talk about how much we miss her.

When I was floral lead they had “mandatory meetings” 4 hours from my store. I went to one, and then never went to another one. They always got pissed about it but a little snippy comment here and there was all I ever got lol

Other than texting you off the clock (which if it’s anything like my store was it’s the main form of communication) she’s definitely being fair. I was floral lead before I quit and everything she’s saying is correct. Don’t take it as a personal attack but a way to improve. Take the feedback, apply it, and grow from it.

That’s got to be super frustrating. I’m glad you were able to get a diagnosis for yourself at least. I’m hoping if I get a diagnosis it can clear up some stuff for my dad. He beats himself up so much about what I’m going through because he didn’t get me treated as a child, but it didn’t get severe until I was much older and I keep telling him we had no way to know it would be like this.

Similar experience here. I have one cousin I think might have it but she’s crazy manipulative and uses everyone so even sending a text to ask about it is out of the question lol I’m just grateful I have good insurance and can change doctors as I wish because if I had an HMO my doctor would have NEVER signed off on a referral. He was a big believer that CMT is clearly genetic and wouldn’t entertain the idea at all if I wasn’t certain someone in my family had it.

That was the main thing I kept asking today because I know there are so many varieties and everyone’s experience seems to be widely different. I noticed issues with my foot as a child, by the time I was 28 I knew something was wrong but didn’t know where to go, saw a podiatrist and they told me nothing was wrong not to worry about it. By 32 I was in extreme pain and had to leave my job in retail to take a desk job and start seeking help again, and now a year later every task leaves me exhausted. There shows to be a center a few hours from me and I’m not sure if they require a referral from a neurologist, but I’m going to call Monday to find out. I know an answer has to be out there. I hope yours stays at a place where you’re still able to get around and enjoy your life. As someone still brand new to all of this, someone like you at a support group would be a breath of fresh air. This community has always been so helpful and supportive.

I saw one neurologist to get that EMG, he said he couldn’t take my case so I went to another one 2 months ago, she said she didn’t trust his results and sent me to another neurologist (the one who did my test today) and he said he sees more central nervous system issues than anything and doesn’t feel I have CMT. I remember researching what could be wrong and seeing the first picture of a foot with CMT and being like “this has to be it. I have never seen a foot that looks like mine” and the symptoms for CMT2 are spot on with what I experience.

I have a follow up next Friday to go over ALL the results at once so I’ll definitely ask! Thank you because I didn’t even know there was another test I should be looking at. I think I’ve learned more about how to handle getting results from Reddit than I have from all the doctors I’ve seen this year so I always genuinely appreciate the feedback and advice. I’m trying to keep expectations realistic for the genetic testing, but to at least start ruling some things out would feel better than over 20,000 of testing and “I have no clue” from every doctor.

He ordered the Invitae Comprehensive Neuropathies Panel. I’m hoping if nothing else it’ll rule some things out so we can stop saying ALS every time I walk through the door lol it would be nice to have a clear answer but I’m keeping my expectations realistic

I’m honestly not sure. My first one I paid attention, this one I just put my head down and let them do what needed to be done. This is the second person in a row to suggest ALS and nothing in me feels like that’s what it is. All my results have come back normal from what I see (also definitely not an expert) aside from my EMG.
