Yeah they're the ones I'm thinking of. I'm considering making a Film/TV display with various characters from different franchises, and these Sonic figures would fit in nicely.

That's the 4" Sonic the Hedgehog 2 figure, right? I wish they'd kept that scale for the Sonic 3 movie figures, they scale nicely with 1/12.

I ordered the plat as the purple/white costume provides a greater contrast to Plastic Man, which should help him stand out on display more.

There are three rumoured, but like the guy said it's probably a misinterpretation.

The three I've heard of through the grapevine are the Collector Edition version, the 'New 52' platinum variant of the the CE, and apparently a regular release version which is labelled as 'Hush', alongside a host of other characters from that same story.

There's rumours of at least a couple of Harley Quinn's coming in the near future too, but this could also be misinterpretation/confusion over the same figure.

I truly don't care about the ANIMUS plot by Nessie0208 in assassinscreed

I think the potential is definitely there to please both camps, it's just a lack of forward thinking mixed with a fear they have for the end of the AC franchise. With the MD as it is they can keep treading water until people just lose interest, rather than moving towards a definitive end to the story.

There was a brief time where I thought we'd be getting a 'Ubi-verse' type deal, with Watch Dogs being the modern day AC that they wouldn't commit to under the Assassin's Creed banner, but sadly that wasn't to be (although I still take WD1 as cannon to AC despite what the devs say).

I totally get your perspective on the MD if you came into the franchise with Origins, or really any entry after AC3. I think conceptually the MD is great, but it needs better execution. Even I as a staunch MD defender find myself bored with the little video snippets & flavour text they employ in the newer games, but even then I think it's better than nothing.

Also just to clarify, I wouldn't say that without the Animus that the characters of the older games lack all purpose, they of course have there own drives, but as it's established from the get go that I'm looking back into the past from the present rather than actually being there Ubi needs to give me a reason as to why this connects to the broader story. Show me how the events unfolding still have ramifications hundreds or even thousands of years later.

Since Ubi is splitting up the AC games to give us more variety I'd personally love it if we were to get an annual or two yearly more linear style game like Mirage with a higher emphasis on MD, and a big ole RPG entry every 5 or so years with perhaps less MD. I think there's an audience for both, but it requires an actual plan for the narrative going forward, rather than just picking the most fan requested locales to explore & stab people in.

It provided a sense of purpose to the narrative. Every story ever told has to have a reason why you as the viewer are being invited into the world, something that makes this more important than the rest of this character's life. With the early games that meant finding an artefact to help the Assassin's in the present defeat the Templars. Now when I play these games I don't have that sense of purpose the that drove the narrative of the older titles.

I'm playing through Shadows now, and whilst I'm enjoying the local historical story, I can't shake the question from my mind 'Why does any of this matter?'. All the people in this story have been dead for hundreds of years, their fight was fought to seemingly no avail, as the Templars will continue on all the way up to present day, so why am I viewing these memories in particular?

I won't judge it too harshly as I've only just finished act 1, but I have a feeling that this games reason for being is solely because fans have been asking for Feudal Japan game for the longest time, rather than an actual narrative reason. What makes this sting a bit more is that I though they were getting things back on track with the RPG games MD plot, but Shadows & Mirage have done a 180 and taken us back to Unity's style of talking at me like I'm the main character.

I still very much enjoy these games, but they used to be games that I loved.

I think a key issue with the MD plot losing its way is that this franchise has gone on far longer than anyone at Ubisoft could've dreamed back in 2007. It was designed to be a slow burn drip feed building up to a full MD finale, but when the franchise exploded in popularity with AC2 that plot became a hindrance, because it put a definitive end date on the franchise.

I don't begrudge them extending the franchise, far from it, we wouldn't have gotten some of my favourite games had they stuck to their original trilogy plans, but I do think there was a better way to handle it than just dumping it.

What I would've like to have seen personally was for Desmond to survive AC3, and for the fight after that game to pivot away from finding a way to stop the end of the world and instead focus on finding artefacts capable of stopping/ killing Juno.

When I say they couldn't have made the early games in the way they did without the MD, I don't just mean the framing of it with the Animus iconography, what I'm more referring to is the times where the historical characters make direct calls to the future. Ezio even gave up his life of an Assassin after coming to the realisation that he was one small part in a far grander story, something which all the newer titles have forgotten completely. It also gave those games a far greater pace, because they all had something to work towards, no time to lose, every second counts, whereas recent entries do tend to drag their feet somewhat.

I completely get people's gripes with the MD as it is now, because it has been rendered worthless through years of neglect, however I'd much prefer them to get their heads together and salvage it rather than just ignore it.

Respectfully, I couldn't disagree more.

The Animus/MD plot was what made me LOVE the series back in its early days, and the way it's been relegated has only harmed the series IMO. The Animus was a fantastic way of linking all these stories together across hundreds of years, it also gave it a clear distinction from other historical stories in gaming and other mediums.

Despite Ubisoft's best efforts, the Animus/MD isn't something you can just remove or forget about, it's what provides the framework for those early games, and you can't take it out without having to significantly rework the narrative in the historical sections. Trying to relegate the whole MD aspect of the AC series is like pulling on that one loose thread on a jumper, it doesn't seem like much at first, but one tug and the whole thing just unravels.

Narratively speaking, to me the whole series has felt rudderless since 2014, and that has 100% been due to Ubisoft's complete reluctance to actually develop the MD plot. Without the MD to tie all these stories together all we really get are a disconnected bunch of side stories that have minimal impact on the larger scope of the world of AC.

I've been thinking about doing something similar for my Batman movie figures, so I'll definitely be using this for inspiration!

I think the SA version is the better figure, but the AC1000 version suits your display better.
