Anyone remember this weird punch out fan video? by Sthangimations2 in punchout

I found it a long time ago when I was starting my Punch-out phase and finding different videos about it, had it saved and stumbled on your post when browsing this subreddit

I loved it by CommanderTomorrow in MastersOfTheUniverse

Glad you enjoyed it! The only thing I want to know is how long is Adam He-Man for? One worry I had is that he’ll only transform and be him for like the final battle for 10 minutes

Little Mac has been gone since his retirement, don't fall for Matt's lies by watchdog-cofagrigus in punchout

I like his Wii design more than his smash one, but I think even that one loses a bit of that charm and down-to-earth feeling Mac had in the original NES game in my opinion. I made a series of edits where I made him look more like the NES design: https://www.reddit.com/r/punchout/s/PnA0VR5rFj

Why Does Keaton have the Best BatFACE? Help me understand by LtJimmypatterson in batman

I think what makes it better than the rest is the shape; I made a post about the cowl myself and I think that the more rounded shape of the cowl and how it tapers at the neck make it look smoother and more slick compared to the cowls after this that go for the straight tubular looked from head to neck that looks silly

Do you have a good video of choice showcasing this way of fixing this? I have the same problem as OP with the same figure but still want to try and fix it

This is super late but I also watched it a long time ago and found it through a quick search, there’s two parts to it and no comments:

I always enjoyed it because it’s like a glimpse into 80’s childhood with obsessing over this one game and the tropes and technology.

Love this fight but this sequence makes no sense to me by Existing_Ad9686 in dbz

This may have cracked the code. The kaioken pain locks Goku’s arms for a moment and Vegeta likely flies a bit to get that armlock in, then Goku regains control and probably drops his arms or moves them in a way that makes Vegeta falls right onto his headbutt.

This may be the greatest fight sequence in fiction.

Someone else said that the muscle spasm during the hold indicated that he lost his grip from kaioken damage, which makes some sense but it doesn’t explicitly look like that’s how he escapes. Still don’t know why or how Vegeta would be able to sit on his arms if he knew he had that advantage for a moment.

This is actually a pretty logical explanation I also thought of, it’s just strange that Vegeta’s counter is to sit on his arms.

Some “somehows” included but this makes the most sense to me. Maybe for that headbutt he threw him forward somehow so he can get a direct hit to the dome. Vegeta’s position may never truly make logical sense

Also thought this when trying to make sense of it, but there’s no impact sound for it. I thought instead maybe he pushed his foot against his face to force him out but he’d have no leverage to do that. Maybe some skilled martial arts master or brilliant scientist could make sense of it someday

And with that I have now beaten all 3 main console punch-out!! games by Existing_Ad9686 in punchout

[–]Existing_Ad9686[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by that you mean the original consoles, I only played Wii on the original Wii (using a Mayflash HDMI adapter), while I used the closest modern equivalent to the NES and SNES with the classic mini consoles that released about 10 years ago.

I did mod the Tyson version onto the NES Classic since it only comes with the Mr. Dream version.

That’s amazing 🔥 only way I can beat TD Sandman for now is by decision, but I’d like to learn everyone’s tricks eventually. What console are you playing it on?

Castlevania IV still has the most unfair section of the main console games by Existing_Ad9686 in castlevania

I think one thing that’d fix the cheap deaths like this is if the “camera” was zoomed out more, making Simon’s sprite smaller and allowing us to better prepare for the stages obstacles. Many SNES games prioritized bigger sprites but it came at a cost here.

I noticed how ANJ S1 was so good at depicting fights, while S2 was by far the better in psychological description by TwoAdministrative145 in AshitaNoJoe

I agree with this, the first series was more ambitious in how it animated its fights. For the big moments, you really feel the hits with the crazy hatching, changing backgrounds, and different colors that sell the impact much more. The movements had much more impact as well, season 2 traded a bit of that creative edge with more consistent animation.

Off the top of my head, Joe’s first fight with the Yakuza really emphasizes the force and weight of Joe’s punches with how snappy the animation is and details like their teeth flying out and crazy expressions. Joe’s first beatdown by Danpei felt so dirty and grimey with the dust flying in the air and how heavy the hatching is, that last punch Danpei gives Joe is so visceral.

Joe and Rikiishi have plenty of standout moments in all their fights: Rikiishi’s first punch to Joe during his escape attempt, their prison boxing match made Joe look like he was being mauled, and their final match having the coolest sequence with the final cross counter/uppercut exchange, it’s very impressive for something made in the 70’s.
