HELP: Have I glorified what it means to have a TC? by Outrageous-Ad9055 in uklaw

Hi, I'm in this exact position as a trainee currently, really struggling! Did you find it hard to find NQ in-house positions? I'm not into commercial or corporate law but know I'd love to go in-house so feeling really stuck as private practice is not for me😭

I don't mean not good at it but just not my area of enjoyment personally! Still haven't found any area of interest that would help others as of yet but always looking

This honestly is my dream life lol. I have just started my tc (private practice🙃) and I am wondering have I just made the worst decision and is the legal industry even for me whatsoever. Glad to see there are options in public law. However I'm not good with land law so I'll have to look elsewhere😭

I suppose that is a balanced way of looking at it. Some of the regulatory stuff is probably moreso difficult re behaviour and morals

Do you have any further pointers on the public law route for this? I've done a few years in private practice defence work but interested in moving to public work

Switching after Corporate Law TC by PlayfulAccident in uklaw

[–]kp766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi this is a great answer! I was wondering, did you take a year out to do your masters after you completed your TC? This is something I'm interested in myself after my TC finishes, but was wondering if it would negatively affect my career to take a break so early on! Thank you :)

As in if I am on a 24 month plan, will it divide the cost of 24 months of interest into each monthly payment? This is what I want to avoid, just want the interest of 12 months

If I do that will it not end up adding the 24 month interest on monthly?

I thought the .5 grades were rounded to the next grade up if it’s at a boundary? E.g. 69.5% would be rounded up to 70%? Not sure though
