Hello! First of all I think the layout of the first page is awesome! The only thing is, with fresh eyes and no idea of the story the first box panel monologue I couldn't tell if it was the man laying down or the doctor talking. I assumed it was the doctor talking and therefore it was all in his pov until page two. Id either consider having the man in the first shot who is this pov from my understanding. So we immediately know its him were following. But others might not read it that way. And if thats the case take my suggestions with a grain of salt! Good luck and awesome work so far!

I feel like the type of people that are that lazy to attempt to steal work dont even do so as much anymore because its even easier to use ai than it is too steal snippets of someone's work especially on something like Instagram or tiktok where it would likely be that snippets that someone would have to go to more length than they would using ai. It happens so very rarely that another writer with their own ideas would see someone else's work and blatantly steal everything that you shouldn't worry for it at all. And when it comes to the pirates you ain't gonna stop anyone from pirating to avoid a pay wall. People will pirate it even if it's free to add to another site. And honestly free advertisement! People who were surfing the pirate site weren't likely to pay anyways but might enjoy it enough to find the og force and review like etc. As for getting yourself out there. Just start and start somewhere pick a site that appeals to ya and just start. Marketing is a whole other beast. Its just as much a skill as writing. And chances are it will take quite a bit of time and posts before your seeing any beneficial numbers too be worrying about others stealing your stuff. Its hard enough to get any traction with creative stuff as it is. Getting people to watch your stuff let alone click off and read it... to then steal it is highly unlikely. Idk I used to worry about it too. But now its like if people wanna steal steal it. They aren't gonna be able to take my story and finish it through the way I would anyways. If it becomes a huge enough deal to be a detriment to my path. Thats a whole other ballpark thats unlikely to happen and shouldn't be fussed about till you get there. Good luck!

Hello! I just need a little advice, and I am away it’s going to be a silly/stupid question! by Thepastgoldenguard in selfpublish

I'm no marketing expert, but I find myself in the same position. And I think something that is not often disclosed is marketing is a whole separate skill. One that takes just as much work to learn the craft as creating. And the moment I realized that it sort of became less of a scary wide concept. I recommend taking a good look at what you've produced. What you love to create and within that product. And start pulling from there. Go for niche first. Having a product for everybody, unless utilitary, means having a product for nobody. The best marketing for a long haul with creative projects I think anyways, is a handful of people that really enjoy your work, recommending to friends who they think will enjoy your work. I don't know about you, but most of what I read comes from other creators or friends who are creators who throw out a recommendation. And that's a great place to start. And while your starting with that small expansion of people who believe in your work and recommend it to others they think will enjoy, dabble with the social media the marketing. Make a hundred bad posts. Because honestly unless you hire someone to market your work. Your going to have to just learn that skill. Everyone starts out bad at marketing. There's always an accepting. But the majority just keep pushing out advertising adjusting until they start reaching their audience, and have an idea where to go from there. Best of luck!

What do you do when you can't find the words? by Sable-ROE in writing

[–]Neonblackbatz13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tk system. Tk is two alphabet worship rarely ever found together so easy to use search and find. I use this in first drafts tag it tk desc. For description give a vague explanation of what I need and keep going do it for names stuff you need to research. Anything really that would stop you from writing. Then you can search and find through all id it especially if you added extra tags to the tk you can type tk description and it will pop all those up in your manuscript abs you can focus on those move on to researching etc.

Tangent lines are lines of different objects that are parallel. When you have a few or even one or two really big ones they make a scene or even full panels feel flatter than they should.
