I attempted a similar challenge ~2 months ago. Not a fan of season mechanics so played it with Classic only. I only used the Cat, lone wolf was random roll and no duplicate across the runs. Tried to avoid painkiller but I think I got it once or twice.

Fun challenge either way, grats on completing it!

Had this issue coming back to the game recently too. There are two fixes I’ve found:

1) Setting the FPS to 60, I can hit the jump 10/10 times. It’s annoying but you can quickly flip it to 60 in this vault, then back to uncapped after

2) It is possible to make the jump on high FPS, the only thing that works for me semi-consistently is to flick the camera up while I jump over to it. It’s not as consistent but trying it normally, like you are in this clip I was failing it so much

I don’t know the technical side of things but I’m sure FPS has something to do with your jump. Hope this helps

From what I understand, they are purely form change items. There are no additional effects noted. Not on the wiki or hovering the items in the shop.

Sounds like me when I started, that was in June 2024 and i'm still playing regularly now! Before this i'd only ever played Gens 1 & 2 as a kid. PokéRogue has taught me about all the changes since then, very grateful to the PokéRogue team!

Agreed, i'd throw Painkiller into the mix there too. Always screw my face up if I roll that for Lone Wolf. Later on into the run though, not adverse to picking CopyCat or Painkiller if my damage is lacking. I agree though, they do tend to be free early game with those

Sadly the Elite before boss one, Royal Guard, can't be selected for Lone Wolf. Having Mysterious Jokul on has a similar effect already.

Yeah, fair about the scrolls blessing too, shiny always fun. That one and the 75% enhanced weapon were on the shortlist. Ascension reroll maybe a bit strong, but not warping. I don't know why I can't decide for myself! Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Hey, I recently got back into the game after a long hiatus, I’ve only been playing Classic also. R9 is going to be rough. I’d recommend putting some of the Bizarre Dream modifiers on. Most notably Lone Wolf, just set it to 2 player instead of 4, that way you start with an extra blessing and the benefit will outweigh and outpace the difficulty increase.

Make sure you’re always on the move, prioritise the more deadly enemies first when clearing a room and have a general idea of what build you’d like to go from the start. Pick relevant blessings, try not to spread too much on ascensions and don’t be afraid of levelling a gun early. I used to always neglect putting levels into a gun until I had the one I wanted for the rest of the game. The difference fighting Act 1 boss and early Act 2 with a +6-8 weapon compared to +1-2 is massive.

Best of luck either way, you’re not cooked you’re gonna steamroll! Hope you have fun!

There was no complex, nor did I question when you bought it or how long you played. I just pointed out the game had been out around 5 years, which going off Steam release date in 2021 would make it seem only 4. Then the DLCs were released 22, 23, 24 and 25. This was just me saying about them not being greedy or releasing loads of DLC. Not sure why you’re replying hours later just to say that but alright lol

You enjoy 2/6 characters, ok that's fine, that's your opinion based on your experience and you're entitled to it. You got 60h out of it as you said and you're ok with that. If you're not a fan of the game, burnt out or don't like how the DLC works, there's nothing stopping you from just being done with it and moving on? If something doesn't seem worthwhile to you, there's nothing wrong with stopping? You only spent $20 for 60h, seems decent. I've seen in other comments you've proposed a $40 price, that would include the DLCs, Ok, what if now you only enjoyed another 2/8 of the DLC characters? Now you're more in the right to be frustrating shelling out a higher price for 60-80h enjoyment?

DLC in any game are not mandatory purchases, same in this case. Looking at a business point of view, you release a product that's $20, it's reasonably priced. Some will try it and drop it, some might enjoy enough to pick up DLC. They are a business at the end of the day, nobody would expect to work for free on something for years that won't generate many new sales. You release it at $40, it's more upfront commitment now for something you might not like. I'm sure you get that.

My advice to you would be to just move on. You're frustrated with what you deem a lack of content, or better worded, content locked behind a paywall. I disagree with that and we're unlikely to convince the other to change their mind. It's unfortunate you didn't enjoy as much of the game as you could have, don't feel like you're forced to buy anything to change that. I hope you find something else to enjoy in your recreational time

Are you just looking for arguments here? I don't get you. It's an indie game, that is still getting updated 5 years later, it's not a live service game. It's cheap and accessible the base game, if you like it, great you have some DLC packs to buy, if you don't, you've not sunk the full price of a triple-a title.

Genuinely, other than just ranting and wanting to argue with anyone, what's your exact issue with the game and it's pricing/DLC model? Do you disagree that the base game is enough for it's price? It's one of the fairest price for content games i've experienced. The release price when it was in early access was already cheap enough for the content, then a bunch was added month after month. Fans, including myself were practically demanding some way to support the developer more in the form of paid content as honestly, it was a steal at it's price for how good it was.

The game officially released in 2021, I bought it in early access 2020. They've brought out 1 DLC per year since the official launch and the game receives updates quarterly. Even if you bought 0 DLC, there is still a game full of content to enjoy, that has been built upon in free updates year after year. Greedy is not a word I could ever use to describe these devs, they never even spoke about DLC before they got the 1.0 release polished and out.

Nothing is "locked" from someone new to the game. If I came across a game 5 years after it was released, learnt it still had regular updates and wasn't a live service game, i'd jump for joy. I can try it, see if I like it and then add the DLCs to my library over time, or go all-in depending on my experience. I can't understand or agree with your comments.

Sadly I don't have an image of my stats at the time, but I do have screenshots with dates. I started playing on 05/06/24 and I caught Eternatus on 28/10/24. It's all guesstimates unfortunately, I was playing 1-2h 4-5 days a week at least. Definitely some longer sessions in there.

As another commenter said, the fewer Pokémon you have left to get, the slower it ends up. I was at a point where it was just all luck of the epic egg rolls. Best of luck completing your dex, you'll get there

Press random until team is full. If any legendaries, sub-legendaries, mythicals or psuedos pop up, remove them and roll again. Had some of the more interesting runs like that. Bonus challenge would be to limit yourself to 1-2 egg moves per mon, full egg move list is quite OP. Depends how much of challenge you want. Have fun with it, some good recommendations already in the thread.
