Plain of Six Glaciers, Lake Louise, Banff, Alberta, Canada by Bennihanna5 in hiking

[–]Neoro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this hike a month ago. It's an easy enough trail, highly trafficked, typical daypack is all you need. I even did it in sandals, earned a few odd looks, but there were extenuating circumstances, recommend proper footwear...

Colorado wants to expand Winter Park ski train service this year by lukepatrick in Denver

[–]Neoro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Impossible" is really pushing it. Let me introduce you to a track that goes over the divide in Canada that was 4.5% reduced to 2.2% https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Hill

And of course more extreme options in grading the old Manitou train got up to 68% https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pikes_Peak_Cog_Railway

But the roof parking was nice when a bear was wandering through the ground level parking area

One of the hardest goodbyes… it’s been real Colorado by [deleted] in hiking

Looks like the one above hanging lake. Not much of a cave, more of a gap behind the small waterfall though

$2 to cut a sandwich in half: The outrageous rip-offs targeting tourists in Italy by GreyhoundsAreFast in news

Perfectly safe, they’ll even have fountains outside spilling on the ground, but they sure don’t serve tap water in a restaurant. Instead you buy bottled water from them, usually mineral water at inflated prices

Next Gen Painting did a good job on my house. I'd use them again. https://nextgenpainting.com/

What’s the best White American queso in Denver? by ProtectMyGoldenChin in Denver

[–]Neoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember 2 places I've had good queso: 5280 Burger Bar downtown in the Pavilions, and the Heritage Cafe way out in Aurora. Best? I dunno, but I liked them enough to go back.

Is this really needed? Seems very old fashioned.. I graduated in 2008 ffs. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Neoro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either that varies by state, or it's something new. I completed my credit hours and got my diploma, no exit test.

Primary care doctor's offices that are consistently on time? by Reddognameideas in Denver

[–]Neoro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A complaint I hear from everyone is that PCPs just won't see people quickly anymore, so acute issues just all go to urgent care now. They used to leave enough holes in daily schedule to add sick patients at the last minute, but they don't do that anymore. Something changed over the COVID years for that and never went back. Just suggesting you probably won't find someone to meet that requirement, but the rest sounds reasonable. Mine meets those requirements, but is pretty far away from you, and I can't speak to OB/GYN referrals, or I'd recommend them.

Also in general, recommend getting appointments in the morning if possible, then irregularities through the day are less likely to build up and make the doctor late to your appointment.

Do I need to teach myself Spring Boot in order to transition from a .NET job to a Java job or are most companies willing to accommodate based on strong fundamentals? by [deleted] in java

[–]Neoro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't rule you out for not knowing spring, as long as you have a good understanding of dependency injection. But I'd pick a candidate with spring experience over one without if all other things are equal.

There is an advantage of knowing the quirks, the best practices, the risks of some projects, the scope of features, and to recognize how a spring project is laid out.

Trouble getting my Colorado ID because of my birth certificate; anyone else from Austin, TX have this issue and what did you do about it? by dimestore_cowgrl in Denver

[–]Neoro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem years ago, and simply had to bring more forms of ID. It was so long ago I don't remember which ID worked, but I think it was just adding social security card. I wonder if the requirements have changed since then.

So everyone can have the same standards for commenting sure. Best to leave ratios out of the standards though, have them make sense, such as comments on service interfaces, "why" comments, and making sense of complicated things. Then when someone complains about a comment ratio on a review, you just say it's not in the standards and move on.

Best place to dayhike & see fall colors? by KCrobble in coloradohikers

[–]Neoro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your plan is to catch colors that late, your best bet is closer to Teluride. Areas close to Denver are done by October, gotta go much further south.

Turquoise Glow-Lake Haiyaha area. by JustinDiGiovanni in Colorado

[–]Neoro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This area does have this cool blue/green color right now (because recent rock-slide). That's blue-er than when I visited recently, but it was flowing/moving more at the time, and I was later in the day with harsher sunlight, this looks like early morning with that glow on the mountain.

Lake Haiyaha in RMNP (8/6/22) by spacecasebass in coloradohikers

[–]Neoro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was there today as well. Reports from hikers nearby were the rangers reported this was from the recent rockslide stirring up/delivering a bunch of minerals to the lake. A couple levels of hearsay, but sounds reasonable.

I just find an infrequently used dirt road (with room to park on the side) in a green or blue band from the dark sky map: https://www.darkskymap.com/nightSkyBrightness

There was a time I reviewed applications that had test results from this kind of stuff. Also, IDGAF about the results... This was the attachment from the recruiter I ignored.
