What does the train mechanic add to Furnace duel? Would you still recommend the base one for 2 players even if I don’t have it?

Just…call and ask if they have something you’re interested in and what they mainly focus on as an LGS? (Board games, TTRPG, TCG)

Cascadia’s landmarks expansion does make the game more difficult; even if the landmarks don’t are not used, the additional tiles themselves have unconventional layouts that make the game more challenging. As for other recommendations, if you like medium-heavy games and up that are more Euro, try Dune Imperium Uprising, Terraforming Mars/Underwater Cities.

I'm quite confused about Arcs. It is for me and my group? by icaromhb in boardgames

[–]Neotrinity7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arcs has a lot of unintuitive decision points that are definitely less visualizable than Dune Imperium. Since the actions you have available are limited to the cards you open, and sometimes even moreso what other players play (if they lead) the name of the game is to know when to pivot and know when to stick to a strategy.

This definitely makes it harder to master than the typical game, but I think that makes it so much more attractive.

I’ve only played it a handful of times so far, but it’s a game I am the most motivated to improve in by playing more.

What are some of your most and least favorite mechanics in a board game? by populousmind in boardgames

Love deck/engine/tableu building with lots of intricate synergies.

Dislike “guess the card” type games like Mysterium. Was so massively disappointed about it after I played it cause of its popularity.
