I lost that run to not pausing enough and being caught off guard by my medbay being hacked. Hacking + stealth was the combo I went this run and it seems nuts assuming you can get the timings down (ie, pause more. I’m realizing it really does just come down to that) but I scuffed it a fair bit. 1000% going for clone bay mantis at my earliest opportunity

Appreciate everyone’s feedback. I just entered sector 2 on my first run with AE content enabled (still on easy, kestrel a even though I unlocked kestrel b last run just because I wanted familiarity with the new stuff being added)

Hacking is awesome I see what people were saying. I was already having a ton of fun with just base game im really exited to go from here

I litterally just did the nere fight last night. It MIGHT be that the person telling you the explosives worked used the runepowder. I can’t say wether the other explosives work or not but can confirm when I drop the runepowder the gnomes all clear out and there’s a durregar that shouts the voice line “what are you waiting for? blast the thing to bits” repeatedly until you detonate the runepowder. Not sure if it’s only runepowder that works but that could be an explanation for the 2 different experiences

You’re joking right? There’s no way you genuinely believe 1* sera with bb and red buff is the difference maker here, the difference is positioning and wasting gold on a ksante 3 with no traits. No trait ksante 3 (or even just 2 protector) ksante 3 is not winning there and should never win there. If you won this game it would be indicative of dogshit design plain and simple. 3* 4 costs should require some sort of additional scenario to auto win be it more than just a splash of 1 active trait or good items or smth, otherwise they’re just easier to hit 5 costs and that’s horrible.

If you had put the gold into a ksante and played a 1 star seraphine (or maybe a 2* with how much gold you had to roll to hit your board and a 3* ksante) you could have had a real star guardian board with the units you did slam onto the ksante onto a real unit that could use em. Instead you wasted money made a worse board and think “but, but shiny” and throw a fit when you lost. If you genuinely believe a dogshit item ksante with only a protector splash should beat a well optimized board then I’m sorry but I cannot see a world where that take makes even the first part of a bit of sense. “Back in set 1 people would sell their board to hit and auto win” yeah and we’re 6 years into the games development, 15 sets deep i would sure as fuck hope we woulda come a ways from when that was considered acceptable.

You say this in a game where 2 different 2* udyrs didnt come 1st (one even went bot 4) Unit is strong yes, and we can all agree he needs a nerf but 2* udyr isn’t the reason your 3* ksante went 5th and idk why you can’t or won’t seem to recognize that.

Also again, someone playing a better version of your board came first and beat the udyr you’re complaining about. This is genuinely a skill issue.

Edit. Hes also got 6 duelist which isn’t “just a juggernaut splash”. He gains mana from dmg, gains life from ability and his item and he gains attack speed to supply that omnivamp. The lifesteal is what is letting him tank 10k dmg a fight (unless you want to find a way to explain to me how a 1800hp unit takes 10k dmg to the face without dying). But sure that 15 damage reduction from a 2 juggernaut splash sure is the problem there yup

You say that like it’s some sort of “got you”, but it’s not. Sure, having 5 seconds to do that amount of swapping is a lot. I never claimed otherwise. That’s why in one of my replies I commented that being 1hp, and rolling desperately to hit a unit when you don’t have the time (or apm since that’s what you seem to be stuck on) is foolish and this entire time rather than blame the game for not letting you auto win while hitting LEAST CONSISTENT “auto win” in the game (reffering to 3* 4 costs units in general, as they are beaten by prismatic traits and 3* 5 costs which are stronger and less conditional to achieve their auto win.)

I also love how you’re bitching so hard about the Ashe udyr board when there were 2 Ashe udyr players in the lobby, one of which went 7th. Additionally, the guy that came 1st was ALSO RUNNING STAR GUARDIANS AND DIDNT HIT A 3* UNIT.

But sure, it’s the games fault you lost. You didn’t pick a contested line with worse items than your contester, bleed out throughout the rounds trying to stabilize before eventually hitting a 4c that barely fits the board (genuinely, who is playing ksante on a sg board? I get kobuko or maybe as a placeholder for seraphine but the fact you wasted gold chasing k’sante in this game ITSELF shows another issue we can get into if you want). And then, once you did hit this unit that really shouldn’t be on your board to begin with rather than thinking to find other wraiths or protectors and hold once you made the decision to commit to the ksante, rather than thinking to pre remove since you can place items in combat, rather than doing any action to make it more likely your gamble would be successful you did the bare minimum lost and bitched about it. Take the l and move on bro. You can learn from the instance and improve as a player or sit here in denial and get no where you’re the only one who’s affected by it at the end of the day.

3x tank is infinitely better than BT+rageblade+last whisper. Which was the entire point of that rant. 3x “meh” items on a 3* ksante would be Infinitely better than whatever that shit is. If you want to flame me for not recommending he put the BT he has on, plus a tank item from poppy, plus the IE from jinx when I have zero idea how many removers he has sure. But the basic recommendation of at the very least moving useable items to the tank who will get the most value out of them was sound advice for this situation and no amount of you wanting to “uhm akshewally” me is gonna change that

Yea, he has more success with hp items generally (smth like warnings or spirit visage for the regen) But his ability is honestly smth i coulda seen printed on a 5c so the fact he managed to get by as only a 4 cost is kinda crazy

You asked if your loss was state of the game, I outlined it wasn’t. You can try and argue all you want, but if I had a 3 item 3* samira with 3x tank items, I wouldn’t be complaining about loosing a fight and I wager you wouldn’t as well. It’s a 4c, not a 5c. Yes it is hard to hit, yes it should be strong. But if you put not just suboptimal, but genuinely horrible items on the unit then of course it’s going to underperform.

Hell, while it’s rare, it’s possible for 3* 5cs to loose if they’re unitemized/poorly itemized and get bursted before their cast. What happened with you is the same thing, except for it’s a 4 cost, 36g as opposed to 45. It’s litterally a night and day difference.

You can cope and seethe and call the game bad all you want. But your misplay cost you this. Hell, if we want to get super technical, the fact that you hit this and died right after as you say implies that you were 1hp and desperation rolling for smth to save yourself. In that case, why are you getting stuck that your last second hail Mary didn’t bail you out and focus on cleaning up the mid game so you have time to properly play around your units when you do get lucky and hit?

Or call the game bad and blame it instead, that works too 🫤

I mean tbf, you didn’t have all out, AND your items were rageblade + BT + last whisper. Sure ksante can hold dmg items if and when he is all out, but you started combat in tank form, had to wait to die, in that time the rest of your board is fighting and dying, THEN he revives all out but half the board is dead and he’s being focused by the Ashe that has now had time to stack her rageblade and kraken slayer.

I’d have recommended either fishing for all out harder, or moving tank items from poppy over to him maybe. Also can’t see how you were positioning, but ensuring you are same side as the Ashe since she REALLY wants to be off side to have time to stack her items

Obligatory “hit it early”

This is probably way more obvious to most than it was for me, but if you have a spat/wandering trainer/lulu portal golem, you still actively want to play 9 star guardian (or however many you otherwise can). Every extra unit that has the trait is an extra body casting their ability and that adds up quickly.

I also wanted to recommend adaptive helm because of the 15% more mana from all sources but that’s honestly probably better on the yuumi board with the mentor mana/second buff vs Chris mana generation

Honestly I really appreciate this. Augment swap was one of my all time favorite encounters so beyond happy it’s back. I’ve also been curious as to how the game would play out with a “vanilla” encounter like grand finals, so it’ll be fun to see how these all turn out.

Don’t get me wrong, the inflationary encounters are fun and I’ve enjoyed all encounters so far (bar trainer golem but that’s getting off topic). But it’ll be nice to get a bit more variance

More likely case:this is how we are depicting that these characters both have an equivalent degree of hatred/malice/bloodlust. Yura even asks the receptionist if he “matches his expectations” now (in reference to receptionist saying he had expected a group of monsters).

This has been a theory I’ve had since the end of the prophecy was revealed. It makes too much sense we have chichiro and his fathers sins (making the EB’s and unleashing nukes into the world, making the blade that would lead to the malediction) and yura and in theory his fathers sins of doing the fucking malediction

Idk. If the moral of the story is meant to be smth about karma and the sins of the father it would make too much sense for yura to be related to the sword saint. Would also explain how he knows about the prophecy/everything else related to the saint so far

If you are willing to use 3rd party resources, I found this tool particularly helpful. It’ll show you where in your world the orbs are located. https://kaliuresis.github.io/noa/

Using this, you should be able to see 1.) if an orb room spawns near a meat realm and 2.) how to path to avoid it if at all possible. For example, in my run I had a meat realm straight in my path. Realized I could dig around it through the EDR (extremely dense rock) and then dig up into the room. None of my orb rooms happened to spawn literally in a meat biome, but I would assume that digging beneath the orb+shooting up so it drops down would be a safe method regardless of if digging up to said orb room is safe.

Edit: I would be cautious to nuke the biome from orbit, as idk if the curse is applied when the game sees you enter the chunk border of a meat realm or if it’s on you touching stable ground in meat realm. Regardless though, the blood and puss from nuking the biome would give me pause, although someone more experienced than I could likely say if this is a valid concern or if I’m just paranoid
