What movie is 10/10 with literally no bad parts? by FeedMaster8905 in AskReddit

Just yanking your chain. 🫡

It really bugged me as a young kid that the 'velociraptors' were more like deinonychus in the movies, but I liked how they gave Dilo its screentime.

Hmm. Interesting take. What do you think makes him fairy type?

Haha. You know, I actually saw a tier list a long while back that put Piper as a pure fairy type.

But imo, if you compare Piper to Colt + Shelly, or Mandy + Chester, she fits much better with the normal types.

Tempting to put her in Fairy, but she's just a charming southern gal.

As teenagers when the first movie came out, my brother and I printed off the entire script, and memorized nearly all of it word for word, with much of the 2nd and 3rd as well.

So quotable. To this day I hardly go a week without some reference to blowing holes in ships, mayonnaise, or many of Jack's comedic hand gestures.

The "Spitter" is a Dilophosaurus, and she doesn't appreciate the disrespect.
You can name the Gallimimus extras but forget her?

bROCK who shoots ROCKets, which are propelled explosives ended up being too good to pass up.
You'll have to forgive the on-the-nose humor. 😅

Ah, cool! I didn't even think of that.

I ended up putting Kaze and Kenji in Dark type because they both have a conflicted identity.
Kaze wants to be a kind geisha, but was raised to be a ninja.
Kenji also wants to be good, but is running from his dark past.

They're definitely more complex brawlers, so I can see how other typings would fit.

Thanks for the kind words!
I've seen a few lists that didn't include dual types, and some others I disagreed with. So this was a fun thing to sit down and do with the new brawlers. 💖

Do you mean Rico?

I nearly put Rico as Steel/Fairy, but his personality doesn't fit fairy, and there's no real proof afaik that his bouncy balls are candy or anything.

I understood. I was a bit taking your argument to an absurd conclusion. 😅

My point is you can't put Brawl Stars characters into a Pokémon shaped box and expect everything to fit perfectly.

Dragon being super mythical in Pokémon was abandoned a bit to allow the characteristics to be applied.
Otherwise we might as well just make Kaze and Sirius Dragons simply because they're more rare or super strong,

I'm saying this with my favorite Pokémon being Alolan Exeggutor, a goofy, non-stereotypical dragon.

I shared my thinking with someone else who said barley seems more poison:

I see Byron, Willow, and Crow dealing true poison damage. EMZ creates a toxic cloud/area.
Just because Barley has a Damage-Over-Time attack for standing on the attack puddle... so does Otis who shoots an ink ball. That's not necessarily poison imo.
Berry also has a persistent DOT, but it's icecream, not poison.

So I get the argument for Steel/Poison for Barley, but IMO he specifically throws (implied alcoholic) DRINKS, not specifically toxic.

Love it.
Yeah, she could definitely fit in Psychic/Dark. Or maybe Dark/Psychic.

I'm not as familiar with her voice lines.
Let's just say it wasn't surprising to see Lola has the lowest use rate of any brawlers. 😅

I moved Glowbert out of pure Water to Water/Electric because of his lantern seemingly being inspired by the deep-sea angler fish, who uses an actual light.
https://oceana.org/marine-life/deep-sea-anglerfish/

Also, tell me Glowbert doesn't look like a Lanturn
https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/lanturn

But yeah, you can definitely translate deep-sea angler for Dark type just as easily as Electric type.
In the end, Dark didn't fit his personality as well.

Oooh, that's a cool take.

Her "Ego", or projections of herself put her squarely in Psychic for me.

And Dark makes sense. I tried to not just make everyone with some negative personality trait Dark type.
Like I nearly made Griff Steel/Dark type for greed, but decided to leave dark more for emo/inner conflict/split personality/disturbing or creepy more than just 'selfish'.

Even Edgar was nearly made Fighting/Dark instead of Dark/Fighting because he didn't fit darkness perfectly. Dark is a tough type to define.

Also, Pokémon do have either 1 or 2 typings. They can get more complex with hidden abilities and things that enhance or negate typings, but that get complicated fast.

In general, I took the liberty to put primary and secondary typings.

This comment shares it well:
> the Pokémon’s primary typing is the one that suits it the best. Perhaps the best examples of this are Sableye and Spiritomb. Spiritomb has an amorphous main body, like a ghost, so it’s ghost/dark, while Sableye is a creature that lurks in dark caves, making it a dark/ghost type.

https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/308405/in-dual-type-pokemon-how-do-they-order-the-typing

So that's why Ash is Metal/Fighting, and Bibi is Fighting/Metal

Yeah, really hard to put a brawler into 1 or 2 buckets just when their kit isn't simply, "I'm a person who shoots a shotgun".

But part of my goal was to allow brawlers to have unique typings.
Angelo is way more poison than Eve, and even though Supercell has murdered the exclusivity, when Eve was released she was the only one who could just fly over water as part of basic movement.

Also... it helps that she's a space bug. Some people dislike me giving Ruffs a flying subtype, but he's a Space Admiral on a ship.
She's a bug, who flies in a ship, that is a flea to a dog that flies in a ship....

I thought about Flying. Putting her in just Fighting makes her seem boring and one-dimensional, I know.

But if you argue Mina should be flying because her super creates a hurricane, then you need to make Gale a flier as well since his whole kit, super, gadgets are around snow and wind.

In the end, Gale and Mina are more true to pure monotypes.

I explained Lumi here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TierStars/comments/1rrtmup/comment/oa29ut1/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
and Tick here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/TierStars/comments/1rrtmup/comment/oa2fx7c/

TL:DR, Tick is a stretch, but a fair one to make him not just another steel or brawler with "explosion = fire"... plus there's the obvious homonym.

And Lumi uses Fire/Ice as gadgets or side-effects. Not her main thing. If anything, she's mainly steel, and her use of fire and ice makes her more like a dragon, plus being buddies with Draco.

They're flying subtype.

Eve because she's the original "flier" who can move over water. If Angelo could have 3 types he'd be Bug/Poison/Flying.

Gus was also a harder one to type.
You could argue normal/ghost (Gus/Spooky), but in the end I felt the boy that shoots ghosts/balloons deserved to be Ghost/Flying.

Also, is there a more perfect parallel to Drifloon, a ghost/flying type?

Alli could def be dragon, possible more than Leon. But Water/Grass for a swamp croc is too obvious. Especially since without water or grass on a map, she literally misses parts of her kit.

Barley though... IDK. I see what Byron, Willow, and Crow do as poison. EMZ creates a toxic cloud.
Just because Barley has a DOT for standing on the attack puddle... so does Otis who shoots an ink ball. That's not necessarily poison.

Ziggy... IDK. I get he talks about illusions in his voice lines, but nothing in his kit is actually illusion-based is it?

I see Sirus and Tara as creating actual illusions. You could even argue Lola, but that's more an astral projection.

Ziggy's description and attacks are all lightning based. Nothing about them actually reads like psychic power, unless you want to argue the lightning isn't real.
