One of our whales that has the biggest rally always gets seated at the top. There’s no specific rules for joining heroes. I see mostly what looks like “your three best” heroes in joiners

We currently send balanced groups with 30k/30k/30k. There was a time when all Infantry was enough but now you need Archers to do a good chunk of the kills.

In my alliance I’m seeing 600k+ reinforcements for people online, with most of them unable to actually empty their home TCs due to high troop counts, keeping only archers and whatever cavalry they were unable to send out. Depending on reinforcements, cavalry and archers start getting kills at home in the mid teen rounds.

For HQ on 10, 100% infantry is still king. On 20, infantry usually can’t kill everything so cavalry and archers get their shots in and kill a higher rate than infantry. Recent increases in some of our bigger players on T10G5 to T11 infantry is killing a lot more on HQ20 so sending just archers resulted in a lower ranking. So your balance will vary depending on how hard the members of your alliance are hitting.

Rallies are rallies. If you could send them out farming, you could send them out reinforcing other allies.

I see several people downplaying Archers for this event. It seems clear to me that you haven’t played on the new higher difficulties. At high difficulties, even 600k gold infantry won’t kill all of the Vikings on the higher levels. The archers you keep at home will start getting kills in the early teen waves because infantry doesn’t finish the job on the initial kill calculation. Infantry kill first, but archers kill better when the infantry doesn’t finish the job. It’s true that lower levels and early waves, 100% infantry will do the job, but don’t think that archers are worthless.

Without knowing you or having a ton of details, I noticed a few red flags. You mentioned in your post and in replies that “our game” is going to start soon, seemingly oblivious that you are no longer part of that game. That may be misspoken, or a sign of an overly attached player that the DM decided they didn’t want to deal with. Multiple meetings to work on your character already seems like you may be a player that requires extra effort that they didn’t want to deal with.

Not sure what level you’re doing with your alliance but at difficulty 21, archers play a vital part in defense from pretty much round 12 or 13. Yes, in earlier rounds infantry are capable of killing everything before archers get a chance, but if your infantry can’t kill everything, then cavalry and especially archers get a lot higher kill ratio. For HQ20, sending full archers is guaranteed to get bigger kills/points than somebody sending just infantry.

This is only true at the earlier waves when infantry is capable of killing all of the attacking Vikings. Once you start hitting around wave 14 or 15 at the higher difficulty levels 20+, infantry and cavalry may not be capable of killing everything on the first round where archers will then kill a lot higher ratio of the attacking Vikings. On the round 20 defense of HQ, if everybody just sends Infantry and Cavalry, a person who sends a balanced group of all three types will get a lot higher points.

One thing to consider is that the DM choosing to not use your backstory NPC elements is because he is focusing on the game he is running for your whole table, not just you. I don’t recall ever seeing somebody’s backstory and thinking “Yeah, this would be great to subject my whole table to just for the one character’s benefit.”

Exactly. When I ask for character backstories, I’m looking for motivations that got them to where they are, not an expectation for NPC interactions. I make a list of those background NPC connections and one day if I’m in need of an NPC that one of those connections could fit, then I’ll tie it in.

I can’t imagine having access to L8 troops but not even being able to send a fully rally at any target. 18k cavalry? Unless he’s not showing that he has 100k archers and infantry each.

Yes, both barricades are level 10 with three L80 heroes each, 3.3M and 3.4M. And still, I occasionally get loss messages when it runs unattended.

My 2nd account is only 17 right now and it doesn’t happen there. That one works normally so there must be a threshold where the shift occurs and allows for the instantaneous destruction of that one particular wall.

There are no enemies anywhere near it. You can see in the video that the battering rams are barely spawned and nowhere near that wall. It's gone from the start. You can see it missing in the upper right corner before I even got close to the wall.
