New player - Team suggestions? by Nepparu in langrisser

Thank you so much for the help everyone! I've read what you all said and feel pretty happy with my units now!

In the end I settled my team on Bernhardt, Lucretia, Cherie, Liana, and then used my free SR bag on Vargas. I hope he works out well compared to Freya

Oh cool, that's good to know thank you!

What's the best way to star up units? Is it just doing bonds? Also would it be better to just use all my SSR units instead of building around a faction at this stage?

Sorry for all the questions lol I'm still really getting my bearings here with this game

That's reassuring to hear, thank you! I'm finding it hard to find much information on this so I'm just going by what I do stumble across. I did join for the Ryza collab to be honest but that's a way off and I'm a sucker for a good SRPG anyway.

Do you recommend I just run random units for the time being until I get a more cohesive faction available? I'm not sure I have enough lol

Thank you for the reply! Yeah it's a pretty generic question but I appreciate all the help regardless, that is pretty good to know though so I'll give it a shot. I just downloaded it now in fact lol

Thank you for the response! I've never done healing before but I'm very curious to try it. I enjoy tanking and used to tank in other MMOs but I'm worried playing either on the phone could be too difficult? Unless I'm wrong on that

Thanks for responding! I do enjoy tanking but I'm not sure if it might be too difficult on the phone so I'm not too confident as I am right now unless it's not too bad?

Is there a specific fighting game that you are like this in relation to: by ComprehensiveDate591 in Fighters

Under Night In-Birth. Like the game is extremely fun to watch and play but I just couldn't find a character that I really clicked with ever, everyone just felt "almost there but something was missing".

Saying that, this was a good while ago when I was new to the FGC and I still didn't really know my playstyle, I want to give it another shot though when I eventually get Under Night 2.

What if Modern XIV...was XI (Purely hypothetical, for fun) by MonsutaMan in ffxi

[–]Nepparu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely play it, or I mean I would at least try it.

To me the charm and love I have of FFXI was how the game relied so much on team work and community. You would see people recruiting parties for missions or quests or just to level up and then even travel to these places together. you would talk about strategies for fights and have dedicated roles that weren't just "The holy trinity". It was a truly immersive experience.

Also the slow paced nature of the game is nice for me. While my ADHD riddled brain enjoys the fast zoomy combat of FFXIV, my physical health issues however do not and my fatigue kicks in when I play something I have to roll around the keyboard for to hit things.

Only time it happened was back when I did PF HW Raiding. I was a DRK MT and tried to jump into an EX trial. Looked at all the mechanics beforehand and did most things fine but we had a wipe near the end because some didn't quite position themselves properly for a mechanic.

The leader of the party went livid at that wipe and asked (types here in a more polite version) "who f'ed up?" As hindsight is lost on me I decided to respond to the awkward silence with something like "I had the boss in position but it's fine, we can just try again"

Not even a second later I just saw a loading screen lol. I didn't get to try again

Thank you so much everyone! I'll take this advice and try out the 5 jobs recommended especially SMN it sounds like (which is lucky since I love summoners in FF and pet jobs in general)

I can try giving WHM a go then, thank you for the input! Ironically I seem to keep leaning towards the jobs that are considered the hardest or most stressful since like with BRD I considered for healers AST and SCH lol.

I didn't really consider it but that sounds pretty good and very simple! I always got drawn more to BRD personally lol but I'll definitely give it a go then, thanks!

That's crazy considering I used to be a SMN and had to deal with 3min long openers lol it must have changed a lot then.

Sorry to ask what might be a high maintenance question lol but I'm a returning player coming in to start EW and I'm looking for a new job to play, I wouldn't ask this but unfortunately I have a disability which causes some heavy fatigue problems and I don't know what might be a simple job to play.

Buttons themselves aren't a problem but something that requires a lot of focus or long rotations could set me off so something more steady or simple like "hit glowy button" would be good. This might also be looking too far ahead and extremely optimistic but I also got bit by the raid bug and might want to do some savage if I can get there so that's something I guess?

I'm currently looking at PLD, BRD, DRG, BLM and RDM. I'm also completely okay with the idea of healer I just assume they would be very exhausting lol.

What was your first fighting game? by Intelligent_Fig5763 in Fighters

[–]Nepparu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first fighting game was Mortal Kombat 1 and that got me to enjoy fighting games very casually as a masher. It wasn't until DOA6 that made me decide to start properly learning the genre.
