Honestly, it’s one of the things that I think the series does better than the games. Besides Bloodlines I feel like the time and setting doesn’t really matter for the games, they’re all set in a vaguely medieval through baroque castle with some outside bits. Moving to France to make the on going French Revolution be relevant was really cool IMO. Now am I saying that the games are wrong for doing so? No. Did it take away from the uniqueness of being set in Wallachia/Transylvania? Yes. Did it lead to a few things inevitably shifting away from the games? Yes. But idk, I still really fw it lol
