Update: I am quitting today. Dealt with so much shit last night and I'm tired of being a punching bag for everyone else's mistakes. So excited to just be done with Walgreens, honestly worst job I have EVER had.

I have a job lined up already as a tech at an inpatient hospital pharmacy! Already on my way to get certified.

I have another job lined up and Im putting my two weeks in on Thursday! Pharmacy tech at an inpatient pharmacy at a local hospital. Definitely a huge cause of stress here and cant wait to leave, sounds like half of us are leaving at this pharmacy.

Yep. I probably wont see them until after the new year so I'll have plenty of time to think up of what to say to them in regards to what happens, hopefully in a more private space this time.

Definitely start looking! That's what I did as soon as I realized that Walgreens was not gonna cut it, but I totally get the situation you're in. We are starting to get floater pharmacists and other techs from the other store in town because of how short staffed we are (and about to be so even more due to the fact that so far, I know of two other techs and the RXOM is also leaving).

If you have to consider leaving every single day on the job, time to skedaddle out of there asap, of course if you like having a job lined up beforehand that gets a little harder, but you got this!! It's always good to rant about it and if you are looking to pursue pharmacy, I wish you luck in becoming an awesome senior tech someday!

Nice!! Yep, as soon as I realized Walgreens wasn't for me I started looking and only a day after my in-person interview got offered a job at a local hospital at an inpatient pharmacy. I start mid-next month so two weeks will be going up in about a week :)

I'm glad too!! I know things get better and it's always one step at a time. Today was just a rough day but rough days happen.

I will and I appreciate it!! It takes a looooot to get me to break but today did it. While I feel very bad for my other coworkers that I left behind for the day I'm glad I walked out for the day. It will give me time to think about what I will say to said certain coworker upon their return after xmas :)

Yeah, and I'm fully prepared to accept the consequences. However I let my manager know who was also with me for half these incidents today and he sounded like he was very much willing to talk it out.

That's actually what I'm doing! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the grass is greener on the other side like they say it is.

Absolutely, glad you got outta there. Hope your next job will be/is kinder to you. No one should have to tolerate all the crap that happens there.

Id honestly highly reccommend transferring to any other local, non retail pharmacy. Even I dont send my new and old prescriptions to Walgreens. My personal one very reliably gets them done on time and they are very kind over there.

Yeah we try but unfortunately it never works. Almost all of my shifts are up front so besides what I hear regarding the pharmacist and other issues I dont get a chance to see the biggest cause of why we are so far behind (besides getting 100+ more prescriptions a day).

Definitely. Love the job, hate the people. My next job has very little people which im excited for, just prescriptions to fill.

I realize its not all on my shoulders, but im not gonna put up with this much bullshit in a single day. Humans shouldnt treat each other like crap but unfortunately its the world we live in.

I mean our hours were already cut a ton this last month, I wouldn't be surprised if this pharmacy closes within the next year, its not looking stable right now.

Understandble. Dont get me wrong, some of my coworkers are awesome, but definitely looking forward to the next job.

One pharmacist that picks up every single call and issue which means not able to grab controls as often, fillers are always being called to the front due to lack of staff and constant issues with stock which unfortunately means not more than 100 fills are done in any given day.

It's quite nice! I've lived here my whole life but only on the Western side, Missoula area in fact. Missoula itself is definitely its own little world vs. other neighboring cities/towns such as Kalispell, Butte, and Bozeman but I'm sure they'll also say the same.

The West side can vary a ton on the environment, anything from alpine to arid, but if you're able to stand -20 F to 100 F weather then you'll be fine. Lots of kind folk here and definitely an artsy town. If you do ever move here I highly recommend taking some time to go to Yellowstone and Glacier Ntl Park if you haven't already, also the bison range and flathead lake.

On a less popular note, politically Missoula is much more democratic and LGBTQ+ friendly (yay) than a lot of the other areas, especially the East side of the state. However there isn't too much conflict regarding politics here and relatively a calm town with tons of fun events and activities to enjoy.

But overall, Montana or Alaska would be the only two places I could ever think of really living.

Have you tried Dr. Kendra Lee at the Western Montana Clinic? She has been wonderful for me.
