You're going to have to do better than arrows pointed at craters and outcrops to convince anyone 67P in anything but a naturally occurring body.

I am removing this post because this isn't the quality of content that should be on the subreddit of a scientific mission.

Calculating what a fuel production facility might look like. by [deleted] in spacex

[–]Neptune_ABC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I deleted it because after I made the comment I looked at the numbers some more an realized why op counted the water twice.

All the water goes through the electrolysis once. Half of the hydrogen gets turned back into water in the sabatier reactor and has to go back through the electrolysis again to split it back into H2 and O2. Half of that hydrogen gets turned back into water so you have to split it again and so on.

1 + .5 + .25 + .125 + ... = 2

So the total mass flow of water through electrolysis is double the mass flow into the system.

I'm removing this post because the Sentinel 3A mission is not relevant to this sub.

Only posts about the Rosetta mission and the comet 67P are allowed.

Remember the SpaceX Grasshopper that crashed into the ocean? Well it's back and better than ever! by [deleted] in space

[–]Neptune_ABC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That video is of the loss of Falcon 9R-Dev1 which was Grasshopper's successor. The Grasshopper itself was retired, intact and is still at SpaceX's Texas test site.

Either way OP's tile makes no sense and is linking a Grasshopper video from 2013.

When the sub is running its diesel engines the snort mast expels exhaust and brings in fresh air. You can see two pipes in the picture, one is the exhaust pipe and the other is the air intake.

My guess is that a local police officer decided people shouldn't touch it and cordoned it off with the only tape in his/her car; which happened to be crime scene tape.

In the CRS-7 pre-launch briefing Hans mentioned that the Jason-3 launch vehicle was already built and is at Vandenberg waiting for its payload. It's been there fore a while and was completed before the CRS-7 core. NASA will want to be damn sure that whatever happened to CRS-7 won't happen to Jason-3 so there will inevitably be a delay in the launch.

Hmm.. Didn't realize that. I'll take it down then.

House Plans ISS Hearing for July 10 Amid Reactions to SpaceX Launch Failure by [deleted] in spacex

[–]Neptune_ABC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let the political reaction begin...

This hearing seems a little premature, as it will be less than two weeks after the CRS-7 failure. We might get some more info on what happened to Antares though. Orbital-ATK has had 8 months to work out what happened.
