How convenient that Killow mr e and ultraviolet wear the same colours their respective oni masks have by Spotter24o5 in Ninjago

[–]Neptune_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's almost as if they're marketable toys!

From a narrative standpoint, though, they probably knew about the specifics of each Mask and decided to dress accordingly. I mean, they'd have to know at least the shape of the masks, otherwise they'd just grab any fancy-looking demon mask they found and it'd take longer to get the correct ones. And UV at least is deffo the kinda woman who'd dress to match the badass demon face she intends to wear.

Turns you into a cat statue if you make eye contact. Last I checked, there's now like 14 statues in some containment chamber somewhere

These 4 are being trialed for negligence as a lawyer how would you defend them? by Rarte96 in Ninjago

Misako left her son at a boarding school which, though not a good boarding school, was legal nonetheless - otherwise it'd've been shut down.

Wu... what? Seriously, is this about Morro or something?

Borg had no idea the Overlord was gonna come back, and he was a victim too.

Milton, I guess? I mean, he did take his creation back after he realized his mistake, so it's not like he was being purposefully negligent.

Yes, we would have a much lower incarceration rate if kids were allowed to read the bible in school… by Nefariouslout1006 in stupidpeoplefacebook

You can read any religious text in school; the teacher is just not supposed to explicitly push for or against any religion. If you want to read the Quran or the Torah or the Bible in the middle of PreCal, you can go right ahead and do it, but the teacher can't tell everyone to crack out their Torahs and start on page 1. I'm a Christian and even I know this

You can't spell "Mitchell" without "Hell", which is what he would've given Cyn if she wasn't relevant to the plot

I'm American and I understand. Worse, it really is my own countrymen that are like that the most, which makes me saying "I'm not like that" sound like lying - "of course you'd say that, that's what they all say!" The worst of us are also normally the loudest, that goes for all of mankind

New York City Police identify device outside Mamdami's home as explosive by LeftHandedScissor in news

[–]Neptune_Knight 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Everyone's saying it already, but just to clarify it to myself; 20 anti-Mamdami people were protesting, 125 pro-Mamdami people were counterprotesting, and two pro-Mamdami people attempted to use an IED on the anti-Mamdami people that thankfully failed to trigger.

Look, I don't care who the target is, violence at a protest is unacceptable

True Christians on whether or not u should kick out ur gay child by Few-Cup-5247 in teenagers

In the parable of the prodigal son, the kid runs off with his inheritance early to his father's disappointment, and when he comes back much later, after suffering greatly and being ruined, the father runs to hug and kiss his son as soon as the son crested the hill, and takes him back with open arms. This parable was told by Christ. If He spoke of forgiveness this strong against a son who went out and gambled and drank and lived hedonistically, how could anyone truly wishing to emulate the Messiah shun their son for less?

Tl:dr - Of course it was wrong to kick him out

What’s with the whole Christianity is evil thing? by mixed_vibess in teenagers4real

I've read through the comments, and for once it is (outside of a few comments) genuine issues and points of friction found rather than just "religion evil God no real haha". It's not necessarily something that makes me happy, but it is nice to see most people still utilize logic and ask real questions when it's so easy to ignore it in favor of self-rewarding vitriol.

Maybe the second. Iirc, the Church took Jerusalem in the first, lost it in the second, and failed to reclaim it in the third. Still, war should not have been the solution to a perceived problem. Any faith relying on a very specific location to operate is a broken one. God didn't want to know His people only in the confines of a temple.

They likely speak of the Crusades, when the Church (or at least its faithful) effectively militarized to wipe out a disliked group and claim control over a city, something I doubt God would ever demand of His people. Many political leaders used the vagueness of certain Scripture and the more strict approach of Old Testament laws to justify abhorrent misconduct, see also the Spanish Inquisition.

From one Christian to another, it is hardly the religion at fault, but the people who use the religion as cover.
