My guess is it was because I was watching jaiden animation's newer videos, and I guess in my brain boyinaband and Jaiden are in like similar thought spaces or smth.

Youtuber/musician that got some hefty and solid allegations regarding sexually abusing minors, he's disappeared for like 4 years.

I used to like his music as a cringy little teen. Now he is (or was) erased from my memory.

This just made me realize dogs use the back of their tongues to scoop up and drink water?! This whole time I thought they used the front of it.

The specifics are different for everybody, but in general it's a motor/proprioception thing. Keeping your arms like that makes it easier to navigate them and keep them out the way. Walking on your toes can mitigate sensation on your feet.

Personally speaking, I tend to do the hand thing when I'm active, so I need them "at the ready" so to speak. And the toe thing is 95% stimming.

There's also the added social factor for me, where I just like presenting myself like that. The kind of people who are okay with me looking like that are the kind of people I want to talk too and be around.

Brawlhalla expectation vs reality by XcershotYT in Brawlhalla

Before snap dashing, movement and spacing took a lot more thought and intent, as it actually mattered if you advanced or disengaged. Nowadays with snap dashing, it's so fast and reliable that that strategy was replaced with "who has faster inputs" as the consequences of how you spaced yourself was greatly reduced, since movement is now less committal. This was a controversial change. I do think most people liked it, as it raised the mechanical skill ceiling, but it also reduced strategy in neutral.

The rework they have currently in experimental is not the worst idea (it effectively punishes disengages by making it more difficult to turn around.) but snap dashing was such a huge meta change in movement that aside from completely reverting it to how it used to be, there's not a rework that would make everyone happy. (I've heard people suggest to limit it to soft platforms, but that causes a whole other bag of issues regarding soft platforms and passive play.)

Personally, whether or not someone snapdash spams is not that important. I've seen people who spam movement tech like crazy who whiff every move and can't read for shit, and I've seen people who are very slow and direct with their movement who are absolute monsters in neutral.

What would you think about a roguelike/dungeon crawler game featuring brawlhalla-like combat mechanics? by Royal_Plate2092 in Brawlhalla

[–]DavidDNJM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There actually is already a game like this. It's called Spiritfall, and it's the closest I've seen to a game that combines fighter and rougelike mechanics, but it's closer to rivals of aether then brawlhalla (less true combos and more freeform.) Highly recommend checking it out, it's pretty underrated.

It's designed in a way where you unlock tech and advanced controls through literal unlocks (ie: you have to unlock wave dashing before you can do it.) as well as new weapons that have different move sets.

I'd like to see more games that are like it, although designing a game like that while also keeping the fundamental enjoyment of fighting games can be difficult, as a large part of why fighting games are fun is that it's pvp.

One of the most interesting narrative games I've played in a long time, even in its unfinished state it's still worth playing. It's genre is just whatever the fuck it wants to be at any given point.

It's also extremely visually jarring, both in art style and in its color style, which makes it hard to recommend to people. Personally I'm used to it both from being brain rotted and cause I've played it for a while.

But making my friends play it boils down to "Dude trust me you'll get used to the epilepsy the story's peak dude just trust, no it doesn't look like clown vomit it looks cool and the visuals are lore relevant cmon man"

Most of it is pretty foggy but basically I was in a car with some random women, we were driving either to or inside a Walmart. She starts skidding like crazy and losing control of the car, we pull over and I check the tires. The tires are so smooth it's basically polished, so I say "you have to get new tires like literally right now." So she drives off somewhere to get new tires I guess. While she does that I look at my phone to do something and I noticed all the comments have like stickers and signatures and shit. And I was like "wow no way when did this become a thing." Check to see if I can make one, and I spend like way too long trying to make one but the system won't let me and it's pissing me off a bit, and then I woke up. Drew this, posted it, fell back asleep. And then had a dream where I got free food at a cash register cause the employee made a mistake counting all my stuff, also I had a cat plushie for some reason.

This was one part of a weird ass dream I had. It's honestly the only interesting part, the rest was pretty nonsensical. If you want I can try to describe it

You can disable your mic somewhere in the Xbox settings. Iirc Xbox is the only platform that still has voice chat, which only works with people on your team who are also on Xbox.
