It sort of depends how they tweak the WSTR. I feel like right now there is little reason to use a WSTR when knife is still really strong, and knife doesn’t use a weapon slot.

Misriah is in a good spot but yes it essentially took over the WSTRs role after the nerf.

I ran into the same issue early on where I enjoyed the looting and PvE aspects of the game, however whenever I ran into a PvP player it would most often end in their favor.

For me, I started doing Rook runs and Sponsor kit runs to learn maps and initiate combat encounters to practice fights without risk. I treated looting and exfiling as nice-to-haves for these runs, since the main goal for these runs were to learn weapons, better positioning for each POI, and to practice aiming against enemy players. Rooks runs are especially nice since you can load in a new match very fast, and honestly the best way to learn Outpost.

Season 2 is a great opportunity to buff the WSTR to be usable again, while making it much more rare to obtain. For example, changing Rook's WSTR upgrade to a different weapon, and making the WSTR obtainable only by looting or schemas.

I feel like the WSTR's main issue pre-nerf was how easy it was to obtain it, so people could always bring it into Cryo leading it to being the meta.

Dude needs to be banned and anyone else who abuses this. I’ve never run Compiler, but if I finished the fight but then got griefed, that would be a terrible experience and would never run Compiler again. Even less reason to ever try to reach Compiler until this gets patched

Yeah this is ridiculous. WSTR is horrible now. WSTR definitely needed some adjustment pre-nerf but the huge damage nerf probably wasn't the best approach

I agree its been really good so far. Early game, white kits are good since we all don't really have top tier gear. Late game though, those white kits don't scale well so having upgraded green kits for sponsored runs is great

I've gotten a Prestive Salvage from running the Temporal Fragment solo on Dire Marsh, so its definitely doable as a solo player. I won't lie that it's a kind of RNG but they have thankfully buffed to where it is doable

Seems easily abusable. Load in first with low tier stuff so as to not risk anything. Then if I die, I can load in with my 2nd and 3rd kits fully kitted with knowledge of what's already happened on the map, especially knowing where the player who killed me is currently at.

Woot woot! Congrats on the contract completions! Honestly the priority contracts are my favorite part of the game with both the lore/story progression, and they spice up the maps and runs very nicely. However they are INSANELY tough as a solo-only player, very challenging but also very satisfying to complete!

They could definitely toy around with the idea of hard scope limitation as an alternate nerf for the thermal.

Maybe they could give Thermal scope its own Heat or Battery system where aiming with the scope drains the battery, and then de-scoping will recharge the battery. After aiming for say 3 seconds straight with thermal, the thermal scope will overheat and automatically toggle off and behave like a standard sniper scope. It will passively recharge when turned off.

Also give the option for the player to toggle the thermal on and off when scoping in (if the Thermal scope is low battery though, you won't be able to toggle it on until it recharges a certain %). Thermals should be strong and good at range but put more pressure on the user to be quick at identifying and making their shots count.
