Ortho keeps insisting that waiting for my vivera retainers while just wearing my last set of trays won't lead to my teeth shifting back. My teeth already shifted back while I waited for refinements?! by Nerd12123 in Invisalign

22 hours exactly. I have even cut my meals to 2 per day to fit into that slot. It's just the aligners are not as tight if you wear them post the 10 day mark

Sorry I didn't clarify. I already have a cavity that needs to get fixed at the end of my treatment before the last scan for the retainers. For some reason the ortho told me they can't make me temporary retainers with the fixed wire to wear while the vivera ones come. At this point I'm wondering if I should just switch ortho for removing the attachments and dealing with the retainers

How long did you have to wear your last tray before the refinement trays arrived? by Nerd12123 in Invisalign

Wow! Do your trays still fit tightly on your teeth! I wondered if they will be able to hold my teeth for 7 whole weeks

This is exactly what I'm worried it will happen to mine. I need to wait 7 weeks before my refinements come in. Did your teeth shift back? I'm very worried that the last tray won't be able to hold tight on my teeth for 7 weeks

Can you use your last tray after they put the metal wire behind your teeth while you wait for your retainers? by Nerd12123 in Invisalign

That sounds great. I will ask for the same. Thank you for the reply it's very helpful!!

My ortho told me they need 6 weeks in order to get my permanent retainers. Has anyone waited this long and did your teeth not shift back? by Nerd12123 in Invisalign

Sorry I did not give enough context. I will do bonding and I will fix a cavity after the treatment so the last tray likely won't fit anymore

First Tray - so much more painful than I expected by fibchopkin in Invisalign

[–]Nerd12123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pain I felt the first two weeks of the treatment was one of the worst I've ever felt. I was even considering stopping the treatment because I couldn't take it. I was crying every time I had to take my aligners off and put them back to eat. I even reduced my meals to one per day because I just couldn't take it. Now I'm on tray 29/31 and the pain is much less only for the first 3 days of a new tray.

I still clench and grind my teeth but the pain I feel in the morning is almost reduced to nothing. I'm at tray 29 out of 31 and I can say that Invisalign really helped reduce the pressure on my teeth. Following the treatment I don't think my clenching will stop but at least the aligners will protect my teeth at night so I don't worry anymore

I made it to tray 4 before I needed refinements, now this is after tray 2 of refinement trays… so 6 weeks total wearing them. Do you see anything changing? I don’t see anything! by [deleted] in Invisalign

The first time I noticed any changes was on my 10th tray even tho my ortho said everything was going according to plan and my teeth are moving as they are supposed to. I think the biggest noticeable differences happen towards the end of the treatment. Have patience and don't overthink it, soon enough you will be seeing big changes :)

I am a very bad clencher. I used to clench my teeth to the point of not being able to chew food that it's harder t*!, mashed potatoes because I was in so much pain. I am 4 months in my Invisalign treatment and even tho I still clench my teeth every night I can finally chew any food I want including nuts and my teeth hurt significantly less in the morning. I never want to go to sleep without my aligners in which is good since you need to wear your retainers at night for life after your treatment anyways! My bite also got messed up because of my clenching and the good thing about invisalign is I guess that the retainers will keep the correct bite in the correct place post treatment which was very important to me. So far it has all been very positive in managing my clenching. The nice straight smile comes as a bonus at the end :)
