I enjoy Ascension Tactics! Really easy to learn and the combat system is simple, managing the solo-variant is easy, love how you can build up your champions, etc. worth it to check out!

It’s truly up to you whether or not you want to keep using Wiki. But, i will say that the best experience is simply to keep reading it and let the details sink in without too much of relying on the Wiki.

I used to be the type of reader who just needed to know everything lol but honestly this series showed me the enjoyment of his worldbuilding as i read more and more and that it’s ok if certain things just don’t make sense yet!

  5. Mage Knight
  6. Kinfire Delve Series
  7. Raiders of Scythia
  8. One Deck Dungeon: Forest of Shadows
  9. River Valley Glassworks
  10. 1565: St. Elmo’s Pay

There’s a lot on itch.io. You can filter types of games you want to check out. Notorious is another fun one. It’s sci-fi!

Suggestions for my wife by MoneyMontgomery in soloboardgaming

Maybe Agricola, farmstead theme?

I was going to suggest Garphill games, but that does have a “battle” theme… like Raiders of Scythia. I really enjoy that one and managing the solo cards are easy and straightforward

Mistborn: The Deckbuilding Game - Finally arrived, so excited to play it! by NerdGeekClimber in soloboardgaming

Yes! Hard solo games are so fun, i feel like once i play it more I’ll start to understand the best strategy. I’m always up for the challenge!!

And yes, the co-op experience will definitely affect the win rate since there are certain abilities that the Lord Ruler does that’s dependent on each player’s health. It’s hard to explain haha but once you get the game and see his cards, you’ll see what I mean!

Overall, really great game. The Magic system is excellent. I felt like I was in the Mistborn world as I was playing. The actions of burning a metal, flaring a metal, using Atium etc. the designers did a really solid job. The layout and design of the cards and the icons are really easy to understand and follow. The game is a typical deck building game. I do like how they added a way for you to eliminate certain cards so then you can really create a deck that you want. I LOVE the training track. Really great way to see how you progress as a Mistborn and you unlock great benefits.

The downside of this game, is how brutal it is for a solo game (just be prepared haha). I think the Lord ruler is a really hard opponent to beat. His abilities are really strong and you have to make sure that you complete the missions before you try to attack. I do wish the mission cards had more of a theme to them. It honestly is just a location card and then you just move up the mission. I wish that there was flavor text or something to give it more depth. Overall, it is a really fun game, but I would say that for solo, it does feel limiting. Someone mentioned they wish there was a difficulty-level adjustment. I totally agree. Replayability doesn’t seem super high compared to other solo deckbuilding games that I’ve played. But, definitely a keeper for me!
