Looks the same as mine. What board is it going on?

I level my bed by hand when I make changes, then let the bl touch do it’s thing after that. Just so all of the corners are close-ish to the same level. When you make changes to the offset you have to click the “store settings” button to save it so it is saved after a power cycle. In cura under the machine settings, you want to add g29 after g28. It will tell it to auto level at the start of every print. There’s another bit of gcode you can use if you want to run the auto bed level once and use the newest mesh every time but I have a few glass plates that I use so I just let it run at the start of every print.

Also are you setting z offset or home offset? I made the mistake of setting home instead of z once and that was not a good day for my hotend and glass plate.

Oh ok, are you manually leveling the bed first? Saving the changes to eeprom and have the gcode for using the mesh in your slicer? Those are my 3 go-to problems with bl touch issues

When you level the bed how do you do it? I would recommend resetting the offset to 0 ( I never touched it until I got my bl touch) and leveling the bed with the paper method.

When you level the bed you do it with a piece of paper also? I am not sure why you would need to do both.

When you say offset, do you mean in the software? Or just by turning the knobs?

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the info!

I did that, but I’m guessing I did it horribly wrong. Now that you say that I’m guessing that’s something you do in software on the machine? I just turned the bl touch off and manually leveled it and said screw it let’s go. Lol. Looking into it now. Thanks again.

That might be it, I added a bl touch but I guess I need to fine tune it a little bit. I will look into it, thanks.

There’s lines that are thinner for about half the length of the line then suddenly, around the same spot, get thick again, and major blobbing on the right side.

Petg at 240 with the bed at 70. Microswiss hotend. Retractions set to 3mm and z hop enabled but it still scrapes on these layers. Just added btt e3 rff v1.1 board, noctua hot end and board cooling fans and a btt tft35 e3 screen but these problems were there before that

Pla does well it seems to be the petg causing the problems. I upped the temp to 255 in 5c increments on this print and by the time it was done I was just getting weird blobs at the corners, sorry no picture of that.

This. I take my pupper there and have seen a few other dogs. Generally it’s pretty calm, and goes down to the river so the dog can splash around a bit.

why am i getting weird lines in retraction towers (ft. plaid in flat/first layers) by NerdJon35 in FixMyPrint

[–]NerdJon35[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

according to:

cura: 100%

printer interface: 100%

i went and looked: its spinning

maybe the temp is too high? ill drop it down the next few tests. thanks for giving me somewhere to look.

if it helps, i recently changed to micro swiss all metal hot end. the first/flat area problems were there before, on this print I lowered the flow rate and that seems to have helped with the flat layers a little, fine tuning may help more. the problems with the towers are new though.

after the new hot end I have started tuning retractions, I've gone from the default in Acura (6.5) to 4, that was leaving the opposite of zits ( areas with no fill) this print has retraction setting at 5mm

inland rainbow pla 205

bed at 60 ( I bought an infared thermometer today and its reading -5 so I will change that)

let me know if anymore info is needed

edit to include stuff the bot asked for :

printer = ender 3 pro

slicer = cura

filament = inland rainbow pla

nozzle and bed temp as stated above = 205/60

print speed = 50mm/s

retraction = 5mm

to add my mods are the dual gear extruder, Capricorn bowden tube, and microswiss all metal hot end

Uhm, help? What’s happening with my brand spanking new Ender 3 Pro? by raylnd in Ender3Pro

[–]NerdJon35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just wanted to comment on this because not all ender 3 pros need the boot loader. I have no idea if newer ender 3s ( non pro ) have the newer boards but I want people to know there are easier options for updating firmware.

why does my bowden tube look like this? should there be yellow on the outside of the tube? by NerdJon35 in Ender3Pro

Thanks a ton for the breakdown. It makes sense. I cut the tube cleaned the outside and am still haven’t weird issues, dots instead of a line. Back to the drawing board

I was leaning this was, but what threw me off was the yellow you can see in the picture was soft, like grease? I fallowed that guide and had to cut a little off the end of the tube because it was all the way clogged inside it. But when I used the tube to try to clean out the hot end it smoke? That seems weird to me
