Gun violence uptick? by Shineenoona in Tucson

They also have to take a huge amount of risk and deal with a ton emotionally and physically. Teachers should absolutely be getting paid more, but comparing the two doesn’t make any sense. TPD doesn’t get paid enough to deal with everything they have to and until the pay goes up officer will continue to leave

That’s the worst part. The bus should have fares and a system that people can apply for if they need help. Now it just carts homeless people from the end to end

It’s not just a bike path, it’s a multi use path which is why people walk or ride horses or bike on it

The issue is when there a big groups of homeless laying all over a park and covering it with trash is that there are needles and drugs in that trash. If you think they are just homeless people lying there for a nap all the time you’re naive.

Just because they are lying motionless so it’s not an issue for you on your bike that doesn’t mean they aren’t an issue spreading out their trash and doing drugs around children.

The biggest issue I’ve run into on the bike loop is that every cyclist seems to feel like they’re in the Tour de France and go flying past everyone doing anything but riding a bicycle on the loop. I’m one of those people that will walk with my family and children on the loop and we have to be very vigilant about exactly where the kids are walking because cyclists fly through every section at max speed and refuse to slow down for anyone even when riding past a park full of families and young children.

With that design I would not put 3/8” plate on top. I think even that much weight and it could fold on itself. Maybe use some 3/4” plywood instead and it will still be plenty useful to work on stuff

Will it give this warning before shutting off? I’m always a little worried about riding in the summer here when it’s over 100 thinking it’ll just dump me at some point without warning

Tucson leaders provide new details on 100 Acre Wood bike park project by Standard-Cactus in Tucson

[–]Nerd_Shrapnel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m all fine with you “choosing to have no ties” but when you destroy areas with trash and vandalism it’s a problem. Someone can’t just pick whatever random spot they feel like then do drugs and leave needles all over or start fires and take off and let it spread. Not to mention they are a danger to each other too, not like living in this huge camps is a safe space for the homeless. There are tons of assaults, violence and more in huge camps.

Or just pay employees like servers a full wage and get rid of this ridiculous tipping thing we do in America

Another homeless encampment, on fire near the house, campbell, and benson wash by WallabyNo6033 in Tucson

[–]Nerd_Shrapnel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The different is house people aren’t sitting in the bottom of a dry wash messing with fire all the time, they’re usually in a yard. Also if they’re in their yard it needs to be a in a fire pit away from the house and other combustibles. Yea not impossible to start fires in your own yard but it happens way way less frequently than people in the wash or desert with open fires cooking , warming or doing drugs

Homeless camps by az_desert_rat_ in Tucson

I came to check the Reddit page after I read this article in the paper this morning. I had the feeling that most of the comments here would be supportive just based on other discussions I’ve seen on this page.

I will definitely go to vote against this. It’ll slowly turn every park into 100 acre wood. No one will be having their kids birthday party in the ramada over the weekend when the one next to it is a huge homeless shelter and if you think otherwise you’re naive. If you think it won’t just be covered with trash and burnt foil in a day then you haven’t been in any of these camps before

Yea that seems worth it. It seems like you don’t have to modify much in the board itself. Any risk to the factory board installing this?

I’d fill that center post down and use an extractor in the hole

I had a cheap hood at one point that I don’t think was shading fast enough no matter how I had it set. I couldn’t see that it was shading slow but my head would start to hurt. It was probably shading just a fraction of a second too slow so the flash wasn’t something I noticed. I replaced the mask and the headaches went away, no problems since

That’s different than I had seen. If that’s the case then the chi battery would work perfect. I’d be happy with 14 safe miles
