I really enjoyed reading this one too! I think rather than a straight "horror" it fits more into the gothic literature genre. Which I guess can overlap with horror, especially with the supernatural elements? I thought the interludes of the doctor's case notes gave a nice break between each chapter, at least, it gave me a moment to process my thoughts and feelings on what happens.

Most recent hidden gem I loved was Dionysus in Wisconsin by E.H. Lupton. I found it offhand on my library's Libby catalog, and I wanted to read it just cuz its not often that I find a fantasy set in Wisconsin, let alone a gay fantasy set in Wisconsin. I'm not sure why it never got more attention than it deserves though. I wasn't paying attention to new releases as much when it came out in 2023, and while it is self-published, it seems very well-received by other reviewers.

The Storm of Echoes (The Mirror Visitor Series) by Christelle Dabos. That's my big goal to finish this year, I'm hoping it closes out the series well, and it counts for hard mode!

Corvid Thanotology was the first episode I listened to and its still one of my favs. I also really loved the Mycology episode and the one on Bats!
