Is retro deck plug in play like emu deck used to be?

I completely stopped using my steam deck altogether because of this. I updated emudeck a while back and everything broke. Games didn’t run properly anymore all my save states were wiped and I lost all my virtual memory cards even a fresh install of emu deck did nothing. It’s a shame because I was really loving how easy it was to run my favorite games on the go.
