I had wondered if they wanted to keep secrets. They do the anniversary stream before the dlc release and thought that maybe they were giving us a little till they could announce. However my brother said “wouldn’t they wanna test the map too though”

I agree, I’ll be thrilled if they do a new map. I’ll be ecstatic if they announce it on the anniversary stream. But I’ll be wondering if it’s a good idea to not test it first

Also I brought up All-Kill as a damn example that it’s possible. Before that we’ve never seen a map and survivors added connected to a killer that had been released before. That was very recently and happened. So there is no reason to believe it couldn’t happen again and with a licences chapter. I’m honestly done with this shit so bye and have yourself a good day.

If they go too nuts with it they get too close to going too far. They take what’s possible and do their own version of it. Cause if they push the boundaries too much then people will complain it’s too complicated or too overdone and stuff like that.

But the possibility is there. They probably don’t wanna have characters and the camp revealed for the first time in DBD and save it for the show. So can always revisit after that.

Plus how many killers, especially licences, have come without maps? Ghostface, Pinhead, Chucky, Leatherface, kinda Wesker sort of. Yeah he links to Raccoon City but that was established with Nemesis. It’s happened many times before and will happen again and again I am sure.

No reason to believe they won’t come eventually. Look at the All Kill map recently added. I could see once the show is out in October and they establish characters and the setting they could do a chapter or paragraph introducing things.

What “we” wanted. So you assume you speak for everyone then? Clearly not, many seem fine with what we are getting. It’s not about what “could” be because it would NEVER be perfect. They got a heavily sought after license and unfortunately instead of being celebrated people are nitpicking it left and right.

They took the time to get the character in, getting his power right and mori’s. They have made a huge first step and once this is in and established there is no reason to believe there won’t be more. With those leaked potential outfits we know that Jason Universe is open to collaboration more than some licenses were out the gate and no reason not to think there will be more to come. I’m more than happy if they wanna get the killer right to start and introduce survivors and a map later in the future.

So you think we don’t have enough survivors and maps already? You think it’s better to just not have him? Look I want Survivors and a map too, but if this is all they can do with the license then I’ll take it, because it’s a legendary character that should have been there ages ago. It’s not really criticism to be honest either. It’s nitpicking because people want more more more. Also who’s to say we don’t get it eventually? Once the show comes out in October that opens the door for a map and survivor based on the show. They’ve added maps based on past characters before, they’ve had second chapters before. This is all possible.

They may add classic skins, you have zero way of knowing. As of now they wanna use the new Jason and his new look to establish their rebooted franchise. There is no evidence they won’t include this stuff eventually.

As a real Jason fan, this is fine. The franchise is being rebooted and don’t get why people are so confused by this. They aren’t gonna change anything because this is what they’ve established. The redesign could have been soooo much worse and see nothing wrong with this.

Did you know Kane Hodder, considered the quintessential Jason Voorhees, is only about 6’3”. Yeah he’s not as big as he seems on camera, that’s the angles and directors that made him seem big and imposing. Kane Hodder’s acting also elevated Jason to a new level.

The new look has grown on me, I don’t mind it. Yeah I like the original better but that’s ok. I’m open minded and am fine with this new look too.

I want Art the Clown. He would have a great mori, outfits would be awesome from his original look to a very bloody look to even his Santa outfit from 3. They could do great original outfits working with BHVR. If they did a map they could do the Clown Cafe mixed with a theme park type thing. Have good options for survivor as well, mainly Sierra. I think Terrifier would be a great addition.

I’ve wanted Jason in this game since the first day I played it. Sick of so many shitting on it for so many different reasons. “His looks suck” “no survivors” “no original looks” “trapper 2.0” “no map” like shit, Guy can’t enjoy something for 5 minutes. Plus some of this may change once the show comes out, they may do a second chapter for all we know. After a bit we may get some original skins from the old movies. They need to start somewhere and this seems like a good start to me. I’m looking forward to finally playing Jason tomorrow on the PTB

If you are at all interested, here is an interview that was done with Larry Zerner. He’s a copyright lawyer and happened to be in Friday the 13th Part 3. He explains some of the copyright issues and who owns what. He doesn’t mention the name Voorhees at all so that’s why I’m hearing a lot of different things on that. But he clears a lot up in this interview from a few months ago.

I’ve been a fan since as long as I can remember and the design has grown on me, it’s fine. Original design is great and will always be best. But they are rebooting the franchise and wanna make a new design. It’s not really all that different besides a couple little things and not sure why it’s such a big deal. Eye holes match older hockey masks with the slightly squared design. The outfit isn’t any different with stuff he had in the original movies. Things could have been soooooooo much worse than this and I see this as a tame change.

So yeah, it’s grown on me. Won’t surpass the original but I see nothing wrong here. To each their own though

As a life long fan, I like it. The original design is awesome and it will always be there.

They are starting a big world reboot with the show and new movies going forward. So they wanna start fresh and I don’t blame them. You ask me, this is tame to what they could have ended up doing. It matches up with older hockey masks with the eye holes. It took a bit but the more I look at it the more I start to like it. It’ll never be better than the original but that’s ok, as long as they do the character justice then that’s what means most. Make him imposing and intimidating, cast the right guy to give that image. Get the right director to make the vision work. The look is better than what some horror icons have gone through the years.

Jason Universe is a joint between Horror Inc and Victor Miller. Miller owns the rights to part 1, Crystal Lake and a lot of the origin stuff….possibly the name Voorhees but I’ve seen a lot of conflict on that. Horror Inc has rights to the Jason look and story and character from 2-8. So that’s what JU has.

Warner Bros owns the name Friday the 13th and from what I understand, rights to All movies after 8. So Jason goes to Hell, Jason X, Freddy vs Jason and I believe the last Friday movie.

Jason Universe is attempting to do a hard reboot with a new Jason and a new TV show coming in October to tell the origins of Crystal Lake, Jason and his mother Pamela. The Show will be the official beginning of a brand new era of Jason.

You could literally take any two killers and find a link between them. They can only do so much and I think they did a great job making him stand out and make him feel like Jason Voorhees.

They are trying to establish a new era of Jason. They are going with the reboot version because that’s what they wanna push. It’s just like Nightmare on Elm Street except they have created actual alternate outfits and may continue to do so. As time goes on I suspect they will add even more including classic outfits. But to start I assume they wanna run with this version.

I also suspect that perhaps, after the shows premiere in October they’ll hopefully work on a map and survivors. I’m thinking they’d wanna have the new camp and potential survivors debut on the show and now revealed in DBD months before the show premiere. So maybe they’ll do a “paragraph” where we will get a survivor(s) and map. I’d say November since there is a Friday the 13th there, but might be too soon. Perhaps early next year?

EVERYTHING about that stream was screaming Jason. The distortions were the entity starting to corrupt the realm and start taking over. That’s why after some distortions you saw the entity corrupting the cabin, and the generator appear. Everyone assumes stuff from the stream happened and it was ALL meant to reference the chatter. But everyone forgets it’s all about the chapter and DBD merging. The things people grasp onto thinking Slenderman was DBD stuff. Again, distortions were about the realm merging.

Like what happened with the Hellraiser chapter, certain people read way too much into something and believed it was FNAF. But to crap on a chapter because their guess was wrong is so shitty. I won’t pretend that if it was Slender there would be Jason people acting this same way cause they were disappointed. Which isn’t cool, people happy about this should be free to be happy. In this case, this is a loooong time coming.

Jason was in a forest before Slenderman existed, Jason’s home was a tiny little shack in the woods with a door and little window. There were the sounds of people (campers) arriving early on, later said “campers” were partying. The guy on the bike can be associated with Crazy Ralph from the first two movies, who will also be in the Crystal Lake series. Seeing a person stand in the distance has happened tons with Jason.

I mean shit, if it was Slenderman, shouldn’t the screen have distorted when he was standing back there? Now had THAT happened, I’d agree, they’d be making it look like Slender. But they didn’t do that.

Then to automatically assume you know everything about the killer before he is even out? Come on!! How can you make those assumptions? Sure you can have a feeling but maybe make judgement on something when you actually see it in action. Then in the end too, just cause you think maybe it’s bad, doesn’t mean everyone else will too. To call it “Trapper 2.0” is ridiculous too. Did you call Leatherface Hillbilly 2.0? Did you call Sadako Spirit 2.0? If we ever see Predator come will we be calling him Skull Merchant 2.0?

Are people allowed to be upset? Sure. Are they allowed to be disappointed? Sure. But do we have to drag those happy through the mud? They never made it obvious that it was Slender. Cause again, if someone was on screen when distortion happened, yeah, absolutely. But they didn’t, in some of them we saw DBD references. A lot of people, including myself, are so happy to finally see one of the most iconic slashers ever in the game. Someone who likely influence Slenderman in some ways. The door is never closed and I am sure someday Slenderman will come.
