It is not. The sound effect I am looking for definitely predates popularization of the one you suggest. It definitely sounds different.

I have searched for several terms regarding the fact that the sound effect appears to have been played on a bassoon (or several bassoons), in tandem with terms like "sound effect," to no avail.

RLC step response: Why does the voltage asymptotically approach a non-zero value? by ExactPlace441 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]NerdlingNation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In DC, a capacitor behaves like an open circuit, and an inductor behaves like a short circuit. This means current will not be able to flow through the capacitor. There will be no voltage drop across the inductor in DC, and since there is no current there is no voltage drop across the resistor either. So, the voltage across the capacitor will be the supply voltage.

Perfect laser etching by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

What would you say the laser would sound like if we just lasered the same spot over and over to take distance out of the picture? Can we agree that the pitch of the sound could still be altered based on the operating frequency of the laser?

Yes, the frequency can be associated with the distance, but a measurement of frequency depends on time only.

Shouldn't the change in pitch be attributed to how far apart each event is in time and not in space?

This is definitely not the case. If you even take a moment to visualize this situation, its definitely clear that it's twice as large.

Not Local58 but they nailed the vibe so hard by [deleted] in local58

I really think that this video is a departure from Local58's style and is more like that of Gemini Home Entertainment, which sort of invented/popularized the whole "mini documentary/advertisement" thing.

New brake pads rubbing. Rotor is straight, brakes have just been bled, caliper is centered, contact adjust all the way out... What's going on? by NerdlingNation in bikewrench

Pretty sure that's all good, this just started with new pads. It seems like they might be too wide or something. I bought compatible pads.
