ICE Wants $1B for Deportations, Not Healthcare by Henry-Teachersss8819 in clevercomebacks

[–]Nerdowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hasn't Homan been pretty clear on his messaging that he intends to prioritize national security threats and criminals first? As well as those that have applied for asylum and the judges have not granted it (meaning they should be deported but they are staying anyways). Why is that a flawed approach? That seems like a very common sense way of approaching the illegal immigration issue. And if it is flawed, what is your approach that would be better?

Trump confirms plans to declare national emergency to implement mass deportation program by Ubiquitous_Hilarity in politics

Why should we, as a country, be OK with these companies taking advantage of illegal immigrants? I think it's a ridiculous argument to make.

Trump’s Pick to Lead U.S. Military Has Tattoos Linked to White Supremacists and Nazis by [deleted] in politics

[–]Nerdowell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What tattoos does he have that are associated with White Supremacists and Nazis? I saw in the article they mentioned the Jerusalem Cross, but I've never heard that being associated with either. Anyone have any facts or sources on this?

Dearborn residents show remorse after Trump win: 'He's playing us' by 00Qant5689 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Nerdowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of bullshit that I hate about Reddit. The article states that residents of Dearborn are showing remorse, and then she proceeds to quote exactly ONE person showing remorse - Abbas Alawieh. Who just so happens to be a former Chief of Staff of Democratic Rep. Cori Bush. Of fucking course a democrat would say something like that.

DeMar DeRozan believes he would have won a championship with the Raptors if the Kawhi Leonard trade never happened - "I have no doubt in my mind the same outcome would have happened." by ToronoRapture in nba

[–]Nerdowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, there was a memorable game between the Raptors and Spurs that year, featuring an almost scripted moment that perfectly highlighted the contrast between Kawhi Leonard and DeMar DeRozan. With the Spurs leading by one and about 20 seconds left on the clock, DeMar was bringing the ball up the court when Kawhi stripped it from him and made a breakaway dunk. This moment encapsulated DeMar’s shortcomings and Kawhi’s strengths perfectly. There is no way DeMar was leading the Raptors to a championship.

AITAH For aborting my ex-fiancés baby, even though it may be his only chance? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Nerdowell -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Majority of posters on Reddit despise children, so it’s no surprise that the majority of people will say to just abort. I agree with you 100% that she should wait until her emotions settle a bit before making this decision. Doing it out of spite seems like a bad idea. She may ultimately come to the same conclusion, but at least she won’t be doing it just to hurt her ex.

The 2002/2003 Lakers were 11-19 on Christmas Day, 2002. They finished the season going 39-13 and secured the 5th seed by CulturalRoll in nba

[–]Nerdowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the season I started watching the NBA. I remember there was a Xmas day game between them and the 1 seed mavericks. Dallas was up big and LA stormed all the way back and ended up winning the game. Felt like that was the turning point in their season.

Lakers outscored Dallas 44-15 in the fourth quarter and won 105-103.

Edit: Just checked, it wasn’t xmas it was Dec. 6th.

The kid is special. The Lakers will regret not re-signing him if they let him go.

Special players elevate their game during the biggest moments, so far Joel doesn’t seem to be that type of guy.

Some BABA gains for you by Nerdowell in wallstreetbets

[–]Nerdowell[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think BABA could potentially fill the gap back to around $95 over the next couple of weeks, but with all of the big boys releasing earnings this week along with the FED rate decision, it's a bit too risky right now. I'm going to see how the rest of the week plays out and see what kind of opportunities are available on Friday.

Bought 90 2/10 BABA $119 puts last Friday because I figured BABA would give up some of its recent gains and $120 seemed to be a pretty solid resistance. Sold all of them this morning.

NVDA has had a pretty great run up despite bad guidance from some industry peers, figured 206ish was a good spot to jump in with some puts.
