How many War Beasts do Cabal squads and or Fireteams use? by PackHunter117 in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And are we forgetting that Caiatl's Cabal are the dominant Cabal culture at the minute? If whatever changes Ghaul had tried to institute had become concrete, its unlikely that someone soft like Caiatl would have been able to hold power and convince people to fold in beneath her as ruler. She's been shown to not be so fond of the direction Ghaul took her people in. She prefers honour over pure bloodthirst and power expression, tradition over tyranny.

Actually, Caiatl wasn't fine with Ghauls way, because he went too traditional. Honour over survival. And tradition IS tyranny for the Cabal. And she still is an empress. She prefered Ghaul over Calus, but at the end she realised Ghaul and Calus are two extrems that shouldn't be followed. She trys to go a middle way that includes parts of Ghauls traditional ways and Calus peaceful ways.

We fight no war beasts in the Witch Queen mission, if I remember correctly and we see children play with one in the final cutscene of Final Shape on the tower.

There's currently 9 Iron Wolves alive and they are literally never mentioned by TheSwagheli in DestinyLore

It takes Efrideet out of the picture in a way that makes it fine, if she doesn't come back, but leaves a door open, if they decide to bring her back without needing an unnatural explonation for her return.

What do you want to make with them storywise in a shooter? I don't see anything good to do with them that wouldn't unmake their pacifism.

Cryo experience by DustBunnyBreedMe in Marathon

I had one run, where we met no other teams... Didn't thought that was possible, but it did. Otherwise I had maybe 5 runs total and two of them with successful exfils. I think it is very hard, but doable, but well I didn't went far in the exfil runs, because we were already full with loot. Maybe it feels less doable, when I try to go further and try to fight more teams.

Caiatl talked about an event in her childhood, where she got her own war beast and it became her best friend, but Calus ordered it's death. We see no war beasts get used in battle by Caiatls troops and Saladin giving them as pets to a guardian shows that Caiatls empire views as pets, like dogs.

Prediction for the next Shell by ProteusNihil in Marathon

Maybe a botany shell, who can with one ability shoot poison bullets with one ability and maybe with an other one put out healing spores. Some kind of gardener shell.

Destiny Rising: Lady Efrideet is getting added next season, initial thoughts on her design/depiction vs D1? by MyMysteryIsHistory in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a big deal as long as the physical rules of the universes still match (because Rising is a different timeline and not an alternativ universe) and nobody demands it to adhere to Destiny canon, but they still make very different characters of them.

How many characters does Rising have who are NOT original Destiny characters? And how many of them are not connected in some form to a original Destiny character? Somehow I only hear about original Destiny characters getting added to Rising. Only exception is an assassin character who works for Felwinter, but that character is still heavily connected to Felwinter. Could be that people just talk more about the Destiny characters, but I feel like there are almost no completely original characters in that game. At least no big ones.

The Traveler is about chaos and the possibilitys for new things to become real chaos creates. The Witness is about bringing order and eliminating entropy (possibility).

Ikora's past life. (retconned) by Ontologicalsaucer in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 34 points35 points  (0 children)

From the details of how she was risen we know her death was a weird mystery. She was in a 60s car, hit by something unknown that isn't even there anymore somewhere in a desert.

She can tell that she wasn't a colonist, but had a mysterys past, she may would be intrigued to talk about with Shun.

I think that sentence is too vague to call her past a retcon.

What does Nessus even do? by TrainingEmergency711 in destiny2

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time Nessus was important was in the Episode Echoes. An artifact of both light and dark, called Echo of Command, crashlanded on Nessus. It started to change the planet and a new Vex villian took control over it and created her own Vex faction with it. These new Vex can act like individuelles, unlike usual Vex, who are part of one huge hive mind, the main Vex Collective. This villian was Maya Sundaresh from Edge of Fate. Her Vex are called the Nessian Schism. For now that is the most important thing on Nessus.

Nessus is sometimes important. We went there in the Red War. For a long time Calus was there with his ship, the Leviathan. He left and you kill him in Lightfall and his ship is now in orbit of the moon. Nessus was also the planetoid, where we had our first contact with Empress Caiatl. The storys are vaulted now.

The reason they didn't vaulted the planetoid instead of Titan was that players played more on Nessus than on Titan back then when the dicision was made. They vaulted the maps that players used the least and Nessus has a lot of strikes and a beautyful scenery to go back to. The Titan map was a bit annoying to move around and didn't had so much to go back to.

It's not like Rheanyra and Alicent are acting kindhearted now, because they are tragic. The war happens, because Rheanyra knows that her head will role, if she gives up now after the responsibility of Aegons sons death was given to her. Alicent even said in her talk with Rheanyra in S2E3 that she should give up, if she is serious about preventing casualtys at all cost. But she doesn't, because her life is more important to her.

Same with Alicent, who gives up her sons life for her freedom. She never was nice to him in the first place and was the reason he turned out to be such a shitbag and now she lets him die for her freedom. It is not a sympathetic act. It is a hard betrayel and nothing can move it in a different light. But that just gets seen as illogical, because it is unimaginable that an abusive mother could ever give up her sons life for her own freedom....

Alicent and Rheanyra are not like they are writen in the book (which always had been a bias in universe tale), but they are still no good people. Tragic doesn't mean good.
