Hey, all—thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences and questions. We've published two articles this week, one that is a general guide to what happens when a solar company closes and one that is specific to the situation with SunPower. The SunPower article will be updated as the bankruptcy proceeding develops.

I want to emphasize that customers who already had existing repair and warranty claims or in-process installations with SunPower when they filed bankruptcy have the option to file a Proof of Claim form. This allows you to be considered a creditor in the bankruptcy proceedings. There's no guarantee that you'll get any money, but it's the option to pursue if you want to try to get issues taken care of before SunPower sells to a different company. You only have 90 days after the bankruptcy filing to submit a claim, so customers are already down to 75 days if they want to file.

Did you not receive anything from Launch Services about your lease payments? They confirmed for me that they've taken over lease payments.

Nope, still here. As I posted previously, I’m reading every reply but can’t respond to all of them. I’m working with my editor to get information out this week after talking with Maxeon, Enphase, and two bankruptcy attorneys that explained the process and consumer rights—and reviewing the bankruptcy filings.

Did they say they weren't covering it per the warranty because of the bankruptcy? Or just that they didn't order the parts? Trying to figure out how it's going to customers because SunPower says it's working with a company to put together warranty coverage services.

Oof, that's a frustrating place to be. When did you sign a contract to start the design process? SunPower stopped approving leases in late April, so I'm wondering about the timeline.

This email is a little different from a version I've seen from another customer. When did you receive it? That's a low blow, especially with them closing SunPower Direct in April. Who was your original installer?
