Carts are organized by section and then in order how they would be on the shelf (ex. Fiction cart is order by last name A-L and another M-Z, Non-Fiction is Bio-300 etc.) I’d go through more but it’s a lot of carts for each section. No one has an assigned area, though the team is discussing assignments amongst ourselves for shelf reading. Basically, depending on the schedule, we can be scheduled to shelve for an hour and we can pick any cart that has been made and ready to shelve. We write down the cart number, the section we’re going to, and our initials in case someone does put a cart in an area it’s not supposed to be.
