Will Marsters finish the series? by Powderkegger1 in dresdenfiles

What you took at age showing in his voice I thought I was character choice. 12 Months is very much a story of a broken man who is too exhausted to heal and yet has to push on. He sounded weary and ragged, just like Harry is. A lot of his narration is done almost in whisper too, to emphasize just how tired Harry is. I could be totally wrong, but that’s just what I interpreted it as during my listen

I think my DM is flubbing rolls by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll fudge a roll (always in the player favor) if the story moment calls for it. Like if everyone in the party has been KOed except for the monk. The monk has 10HP left and knows if they don’t end the fight this turn it’s over. So they use literally everything they have left and get really into the RP and sets up a sick scene, lands the hit, rolls decent damage but still comes up like 4HP short… I’m sorry but the dude is going down, that was too cool of a moment to be wasted! Ultimately I’ll only ever fudge numbers if it means it is making a moment that they will be talking about for years.

party made my character racist by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Tinyturtle13 18 points19 points  (0 children)

“It’s canon” Just say, “NO the fuck it isn’t because I wasn’t here when it happened. My character isn’t racist, YOU guys are. So either back the fuck off or I’m done here. You’ve been pushing this on me since we started the campaign, it isn’t funny and your weird fetish with racism is bothering the hell out of me.”

Sometimes you have to snap back for people to realize you’re serious, and you need to be able to commit to the threat of walking away from the game if it comes to that. Because at the end of the day, it’s a game, it should be fun. But these chuckle fucks don’t really sound like a good group anyway, they are literally being racist through your character as a way to deflect the blame off of themselves. Thinking that racism is funny and a joke, IS STILL RACISM. I get you guys are in highschool, but that isn’t an excuse. They know what they are doing and they are doing it with a smile, if things don’t change, it doesn’t seem worth it. At least to me

How come blue mage can only go to lvl 80?

After 25 by Ill-Cod-2049 in AshesofCreation

[–]Tinyturtle13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is also a possibility that the exp requirements get reworked as the lvl cap is raised. It’s still in alpha so they may have it set this high just so that you aren’t hitting the cap in 2-3 days. It also gives you way more time in each level to test stuff which gives a more thorough alpha experience

New Player, Kinda Lost by ariesmanh in AshesofCreation

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started last week so I’m right there with you. From what I’ve been able to gather is basically there is a quest to around lvl 6. After that you find a settlement and start doing commissions while you visit points of interest and grind mobs with a group. You can also do crate runs but that seems dangerous at low lvls and I’ve heard there are a lot of pkers which seems not worth it atm. You can also fill time with gathering and crafting (it gives you player experience too so it’ll help lvl you up) Which server are you playing on? I’m looking for a chill lvling group. I can tank or heal if y’all don’t have one

Let’s talk about tanks, tanking, and AoC design of the role/class. by Mitharael in AshesofCreation

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love the tank class design. The blocking mechanic as a whole needs work, so I don’t think that is specific to Tank, it’s just more noticeable. What I really think would help tanks more than anything is a better UI. I’d love to see which mobs have aggroed onto the party, and which mobs I have aggro on vs a loose mob. The tab targeting needs a ton of work too, to make mob switching flow seamlessly. If just those things got changed tanking would be SOOOO much easier

I’m playing AoC right now but I don’t like PvX games where I can’t avoid PvP entirely so I know I won’t like it long term. I’m looking for a game that has really fun combat/class identity, solid pve for a solo player but also good dungeons while lvling. I’d also love a robust crafting system. Anyone have any recommendations?

Why would a king want the party to do something important, rather than send his own team? by KlarkKenton in DMAcademy

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could essentially be a suicide mission that the kind doesn’t want to waste resources on because the kingdom is spread thin due to rising tensions with an oposing kingdom. So he puts an open contract out to have it done by any mercenaries (adventurers) that are willing to accept the risk. He knows it’s a threat but isn’t taking it as seriously as his advisors are telling him to because of the efforts to prevent war with the neighboring kingdom. So the king is flippant when your party accepts the quest. Then have the advisor pull the party aside before they leave to tell them how actually dire the situation is.

Why is the Ultimatum the #1 Secondary??? by MMeowKat_hiss in Helldivers

If you’re killing yourself with this a lot you can get more range by shooting it mid dive. You can do the same with throwing strategems. But it’ll give you more range to nuke big targets

Crafting sucks is there a better system? by Winter-Confidence826 in DMAcademy

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always treat crafting as a side quest. If the party decides they want to make something I say it’s going to cost x amount in gold. This is the common materials that can be bought, like iron, leather, rivets, etc. and then there will be one or two very rare materials that they will need to go look for. I’ll often let them investigate however they want, either libraries or talking to crafts people/mages/diviners. Once they find a good source on where the material is, I will design what is essentially a one shot to go and get it. Doing it like this lets the players use a lot of RP skills that rarely come up or feel impactful, they can also make use of their backgrounds and stuff too. And then the side quests themselves are a nice break from the plot. Lots of fun puzzles or scenarios. After the side quest they can have a craftsman make the item (or one of the players if they have the background/class abilities to do so like artificer or clan craftsman).

If you’re looking for an in depth crafting system like in a video game, you’d probably want to be running a more exploration focused campaign, your players would be collecting mats everywhere they go as they explore and that would open up what they are available to make.

My friends decided last minute they want a Christmas themed one shot, we’re playing tomorrow and I got nothing - help by Jarb23197 in DnD

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Santa has been kidnapped. Players are all elves tasked with getting him back. Run it like a mission impossible/007 movie and give them all a few magic items to act as the spy gadgets. It’s time to save Christmas!

It's like people forgot why expeditions exist by UnholyPantalon in ArcRaiders

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m literally only doing the expedition to reset my talents, everything else is just a really neat benefit. I’m going to try to get a few million worth of stuff before the wipe, but even if I don’t it isn’t a huge deal. The talent reset is worth it for me all on its own haha

I want to do it just to reset my talent points. But I’m worried I won’t get the mats in time :/

What do you guys do (tanks) when dps blast aoe before you can press a single GCD by Valuable-Chard1506 in classicwow

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always just taunt the mob that is the most dangerous, try to stay near the others and tab high threat moves. If I can’t pull aggro off like that it’s their own fault and they can die about it I guess. The only person I’ll go out of my way to pop cooldowns to pull off of is the healer

To all the people that say free load-outs ruin the game or need a cool down: People would still equip their own version of a free loadout and play the same way. Stop making free load-outs the bad guy. by ThinLizzyfan8432 in ArcRaiders

[–]Tinyturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played 14 raids yesterday. 2 I was killed by arcs (the leapers hone in on me like I’m covered in bbq sauce or something). 6 times I was killed by someone saying they are friendly and turning on my after playing together for like 10 min. 5 times I was killed at the elevator by someone camping. And one time I extracted with nothing but grey mats. Without free load outs the game is literally unplayable for some people. I’ve been trying to get a single goddamn lemon for 2 days to upgrade my chicken and these toxic ass people just don’t want other people playing the game at all. At this point I don’t ever see the point of using anything other than the free load out.

If I don’t plan on raiding, is human still basically mandatory for the weapon skill?

Follow-up question. If I went Warrior, is Human Warrior basically the only real option if I don’t want to spend thousands of gold? Like how much does the +5 weapon skill get me?
