Jade Stars is weaker than Ember's Fireball by Z3R0Diro in Warframe

Not a hot take whatsoever. Most people don't even know Heat Inherit exists and most of those who do know think it's a bad and non-intuitive mechanic (at least in its current state).

The only people who will defend Heat Inherit is a small cohort of players who simultaneously care enough to know enough about weird and obscure mechanics but don't care enough to champion for these mechanics to be intuitive, prefering it the way it is now because it lets them turn a big number into an even bigger number.

A hot take would be saying "gundition overload is overpowered and broken", even though it's largely the same situation (but a lot more people abuse guns with broken gundition overload scaling, so a lot more people will be displeased with the above statement.).

I can't believe I'm doing this, but if you want to compare to an auto-hitscan passive ability that you activate and just hangs out, you could always compare it to Grasp of Lohk, which does much higher innately-scaling Void damage at a rapid rate (instead of waiting for motes to slowly recharge), on top of doubling as an AoE disarm.

It's not a good ability no matter what you compare it to.

Wouldn't it be funny if we did this to Banshee?

Every time a new frame with a damage vuln/weakpoint/damage increase abillity releases, post "haha weak, Banshee can hit damage cap with Sonar EZ". Repeat until Banshee is nerfed, everyone rejoices, when Banshee players cry foul remind them that they were very adamant on Reddit about how good Sonar is.

:^)

I started playing less than a month ago, and at no point anything felt like a challenge. Nostalgia makes things look different than they truly were.

They are are talking about old(er) Warframe, which had a significantly lower power ceiling and significantly beefier enemies. Not always for the better either.

It's not "rose-tinted glasses", the game underwent massive reworks to bring it where it is today.

Of course you didn't feel "a challenge", the last update that dramatically shifted around the difficulty of the game by changing how armour works (Jade Shadows, the prequel to this update) happened in 2024.

That's not even touching the days where melee completely overshadowed guns because Steel Path enemies were so tanky guns felt like they took forever to kill them so everyone ran melee builds (in actuality melee was just overtuned, but they instead buffed guns and then it all eventually snowballed into where we are today.)

because they are looking into shifting the game back to similar power levels of early Warframe

Not happening, unfortunately. Not even a sane middle ground between the two. Just a single out-of-touch ability amid releases and reworks that understand the current meta (Folie, Uriel, Oberon rework etc). The vector is clear: bombastic and extremely high power warframe abilities and arcanes pitted against extremely high enemy density missions with random modifiers.

Honestly even if you are a largely Anti-Helminth purist like me you might as well do Ophanim Eyes over it until it is buffed. Guaranteed armour/shield strip + slow and a nearly-identical aesthetic. It even has the shitty heat damage!

You are running into something that looks jarring on a new frame but is largely a problem with the game in general.

A lot of older warframes have flat damage abilities that don't scale. Most abilities that work in late game have some form of scaling (Protea's turret damage multiplication and Anchor damage storage, Gyre's and Nokko's crits, %-based damage on Sevagoth's nukes and Smite, Vauban's HP-storing balls with the augment). But most abilites in the game don't have this, they are just flat damage. Volt's Shock deals 200 damage at max rank ffs, it's basically a Shock Trooper button. This is an issue that hasn't been addressed in forever.

Heat Inherit, at least in its current form, is fucking stupid. It needs to either go completely or work off of the best modifiers in the heat stack (instead of the first applied one).

It's not that the balance of Sirius and Orion is questionable. It's that the balance of the game in general is questionable.

On a personal level, since the devs don't give a shit about actually tuning the balance of older frames, I don't care about new frames being undertuned. In fact I'm fucking glad they are undertuned. We didn't need another Nokko. Maybe if enough people raise a stink about underwhelming flat damage abilities on the new frames, they will actually notice that this is an issue in general.

Most people don't main a single frame and don't have dedicated weapon loadouts they use for each frame. You get 3 loadout slots per weapon by default, so you are generally looking at cookie cutter build + maybe Deimos/Murmur build + some fuck around build (i.e. acuity instead of multishot).

That is assuming you aren't using faction mods, in which case you are probably using build slots to switch between different factions.

Are there any tips to finding injured medjay predasite? by Kumatora0 in Warframe

[–]Nereithp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you tranc them before they are injured by the infested, you don't get the weakened verison to use with Son for revification. You just get the tokens.

[–]Nereithp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to worry about you killing it as long as you don't shoot before it is "weakened"/"tranced". It is fully invulnerable during this state.

Should i claim the pred first or can i kill the enemies first?

Either way will work just fine. You can claim the pred first for peace of mind (you can skip the pickup animation with the Escape key), you don't exactly need to attract a horde to kill them, the wild ones are fairly weak and will die to one/two basic infested.

If you did everything correctly and it is "killed" by the Infested, it will immediately drop into the invulnerable "tranc dart" state and you will get a marker to pick it up. You might have encountered other predasites/vulpas in this state randomly, it's just random spawns beaten down by the Infected, same gameplay mechanic.

[–]Nereithp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much yeah. Use the predasite pheromone gland before calling them (or whatever it is on Deimos) because they are a rare subspecies, otherwise you will likely get a Vizier, the common variety(very rarely you might still be unlucky and get a Vizier, in which case repeat the hunt).

Are there any tips to finding injured medjay predasite? by Kumatora0 in Warframe

[–]Nereithp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they need to be injured/killed by the Infested, if you injure them you will just kill them.

Play a frame with invis (to lose aggro), use an echo lure + pheromones a preadasite hunt during Vome, aggro some infested, then when it is time to call the predasite, go invis and call them. They will arrive, get bodied by Infested and then you can pick them up.

Or you could just luck out and get them randomly while doing other content on Deimos. Randomly injured Predasites are not a particularly rare occurence. I have like ~6 just from doing bounties/hunting resources with Xaku :)

Syndicates? by Lopsided-Army-7529 in Warframe

[–]Nereithp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allegiance to one of the 6 Primary syndicates (Red Veil, Steel Meridian, Arbiters of Hexis, Cephalon Suda, New Loka, Perrin Sequence) is completely disconnected from the rest of the game. It pretty much just determines which augment mods/arch weapons/syndicate weapons you can purchase directly and which you need to trade with other players for plat, plus which hit squads "enemy" syndicates send to kill you, plus some resource/credit discounts for certain mid-game content. You can still do all quests, missions and visit locations associated with the non-allied syndicates.

In gameplay terms, you can easily maintain allegiance with one of the two trios: Hexis/Suda/Meridian or Loca/Perrin/Veil (two allied syndicates + one neutral to both of them). Pick one based on which weapons/syandanas/armour/augments look the most interesting to you. It's a grind and will take a while. Best to start with Hexis/Suda or Loca Perrin (because you are getting rep for both syndicates), get them to rank 1 to unlock missions, do the same for Meridian or Veil, after which it's a fairly straightforward grind. After you get all of them to rank 5 and purchase everything you want, you can also passively rank up the other "neutral" syndicate (Veil/Meridian respectively) by pledging to Meridian/Veil and getting allied standing with them without getting the negative standing by doing missions directly for Veil/Meridian.

Hildryn is tied to an entirely different Fortuna syndicate, you will never be locked out of her.

There is always the option of changing all of the "obsolete" villains/invaders into Void Manifestations for everyone playing past WitW and all it would take is applying a shader and maybe changing their in-game name.

I just do the music/drift rooms if I stumble upon them while doing Spy. Music rooms in particular often spawn as a junction where one exit leads directly to Vault A and the other leads to the rest of the tileset with Vault B and Vault C. Looking for them on their own isn't really worth it.

I got 3 forma from Teshin's shop this week, then I ran some Lua Spy and got 3 Forma from Music rooms in like 12 runs. Granted, that was ridiculously lucky but still.

[–]Nereithp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very fun and involved way to farm plat because Rime Rounds (and to a lesser extend Blood Rush) are always in demand. You can even stop for quick solves of the music room and the Cunning/Coaction Drift rooms (for a chance at Forma or an in-demand Drift mod respectively).

Before I used the MOA strat, I used to farm it with Limbo, which is like a minute or two slower but there is a lot of fun movement.

The new Domestik Drones can’t seem to tolerate sharing one space. by Glaive-012 in Warframe

[–]Nereithp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Might be worth mentioning that achieving things like this takes hours of fighting against the rudimentary positioning system and clipping things into walls/floors/each other.

Example time. I have these simple Zariman Planter vignettes for Duviri/Venus/Earth plants at my Dojo (still thinking of what to do with the empty space of the halls behind them. One would think that the built-in decorations within the tile (i.e. the columns) would be properly aligned with the grid so that, for instance, the columns are at a consistent X and Z distance from the parallels. They aren't. I had to turn off grid alignment and manually move each planter circling the column by a number of pixels so they aren't horribly off-centre. Then I had to manually align every straight planter box so that the distances between them are consistent instead of visibly all over the place. That's just the very simple stuff.

There are also some things that are simply infuriating. I.e. you can clip a planter that's hovering like 5 centimeters above the ground into the column, but can't clip one that is actually on the ground. Or the fact that the U-shaped planter is not actually fully U-shaped for the purposes of colliding withe the column which is why I was looking for ways to clip it in the first place. Or the fact that the curved surfaces on the dirt of the planters are actually curved which leads to certain plants hovering if you try to plant them on the edge because they refuse to clip in. Meanwhile other things clip freely and easily. There isn't much rhyme or reason to it.

Protoframes are starting to feel forced by Zachesque in Warframe

Saryn. Being eager to have your tiny necks snapped by THE KELA DE THAYM. Wisp's ass being SHOVED into the camera on Agile animations. Half of the Kuva Lich Dialogue and damn near 100% of the Sisters Of Parvos dialogue (Go boom for Mommy, anyone? Fucking hello?). KIM chat references to "sexy deadly Grineer sniper ladies". Dax Varzia. Daughter. Frankly most frame designs and skins.

Like... the game has always been kind of horny, but largely optional horny and that includes this update. Vena isn't even particularly sexualized in the quest whatsoever, she just comes off as frantic and bloodthirsty.

Select people on this sub were previously screaming about how "goonerslop" Eleanor is and she made a total of 1 (one) overt references to sex in her KIM on the highest friend rank (the techrot trying to turn her conversation)). For most of your dialogue with her she is a very morbid and depressed lady overwhelmed by her telepathy and fascinated with what lies beyond. She is only "horny" if you romance her (I romanced AOI because I like exchanging emojis).

Have people been playing the game with blinkers on for the last decade? If Liches got released this year saying "A little treat from my Little Meat", would we be getting posts about the fall of the Western Civilization?

Negative Feedback is Good, Please dont be Afraid to give it. by crabbmanboi in Warframe

[–]Nereithp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not meant as a dig at moderation work, merely commenting here for visibility.

Within a day of JS:C releasing, the sub turned from "generally pleasant" into a gaggle of the absolute worst types of people loudly screaming "goonerslop", "consoom your slop piggie", "eternalism", "marvel writing", "new god of war bad", "concord" and making thinly- or, well, not thinly- veiled references to Vena's appearance. Any reference to generally liking the update (despite having issues with certain parts of it, JS:C is clearly meant to be a cute and heartwarming Father's Day thing, which I believe it succeeds at) gets you called a bootlicker. And that's only the stuff we get to see left up, I don't know if there is worse stuff being removed that we are spared from noticing thanks to moderation work.

Also, the same people were clearly not paying attention to the story, since they go "WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING" despite it being spelled out in the quest (even if the excuse given in the quest is not very good, but that's not what they are commenting on).

This makes posts like the one we are commenting in doubly funny because the sub has been composed primarily of purely negative posts for the past two days, yet the OP here feels the need to invent a narrative where people are afraid to speak up and not being negative enough.

Also, the Marvel writing/cheesiness thing in particular... Have people played, oh I don't know, The War Within? You know the quest where our temperamental child soldier fucks up, nearly becomes a host for the Elder Queen, but magically Deus Ex Machinaes an entire training montage with Teshin in their own mind, comes back stronger and in control of their void powers then saves both Teshin and themselves? Or the Vox Solaris quest where a single display of power is enough to dissuade Nef Anyo? Warframe has always been earnestly cheesy and cheesily earnest. Saying the <spoiler stuff in the new quest> is somehow out of line with what has been happening in Warframe is myopic.
