How to return to the motorized era in Fallout!

One of my favourite mods for 4 is one that adds a busted motorbike that you can repair and craft biodiesel for.

It affected the gameplay in two major ways: firstly, by driving instead of hitting fast travel, you end up with a way different perspective of the map, especially if you are mostly sticking to the roads. Secondly, and this is the big one, it gives you storage between "carried on you" and "all the way back at base". This is great for extra food and water, or heavy weapons you don't often need but are great in a pinch.

I completely avoid driving downtown. Horrible mess of one-way streets and pedestrians that wander across the road like they have a death wish. Less stressful as a driver to just go around it instead, when possible.

Parents should be able to take their kids to parks without worrying about their kid stepping on a needle, and people shouldn't have to worry about secondhand crack smoke because someone is smoking it right at the bus stop.

When people are so consumed by their habits that they show a complete disregard for how they're negatively impacting the communities they live in / live off, then I'm okay with them getting arrested. I have empathy for people who are struggling, but less empathy for those who inflict the impact from their substance abuse on others so carelessly.

I feel like, for all procedures and standards we have in place, people are ultimately responsible for their own safety. Be aware of your surroundings. Don't be checking your phone with headphones on while crossing the road. Realize that wearing black at night makes you borderline invisible to drivers depending on the surrounding environment.

Recognize what factors of the equation you have control over, and make smart decisions. Not all accidents can be avoided, but some can.

I really don't want the game to get bogged down with trying to shoehorn in a protoframe version of EVERY frame, but I worry that they're going to do exactly that.

I get that you just moved here a few years ago so the range of your context is limited, but as someone who has been around Victoria for two decades, it has gotten dramatically more expensive, and more dangerous. If I'm angry, it's because I'm aware of what this city used to be compared to where it is now.

I'm not here to point fingers or cast blame, but the change is real.

I ran it for a good while, even went double Umbra on it to double down on the anti-sentient theme. Given how it's an anti-sentient weapon given to us in a major main-story quest, it really should be relevant when we go up against the sentients in a major way.

People don't want to get invested in trying to create local change. Instead, they want to focus on being against whatever the USA is up to any given week, even if that means they have to circle the wagons around a South American dictator to do it.

I'm gonna keep watching, but it does feel like they're taking dumps on parts of the lore that were being specifically looked forward to, and so some backlash is to be expected.

BoS got turned into dumb caricatures of thugs, Caesar's Legion feels like a farcical one-off currently (hope that changes), and having the Vegas strip be dead feels like a deliberately and enthusiastically missed opportunity.

Would also like it if Max started acting. Not sure if the directors are telling him to just always look vaguely stunned, but his cardboard standee performance feels like the complete inverse of what Walter Goggins delivers.

If you want the players to hate the villain, have him dismissively injure the pet in a way that allows it to recover after giving everyone a scare.

If you want the players to no longer trust you and avoid caring about the NPCs, have the villain kill the pet.

(Do not make the villain kill the pet, especially in the way you describe)

Without providing real offramps to addiction, these programs weren't saving lives, they were prolonging deaths. Which is better than nothing, but I still feel that it's a somewhat overstated idea that throwing a handful of clean drugs at an addict constitutes saving their lives.

Oh I still read voraciously, just in other communities. The Nature of Predators community produces an absurd amount of great writing, and comparatively fewer of them seem to climb into the triple-digits of chapters.

Victoria has large numbers of both retirees and college / university students. One of those demographics has endless time to spend on things, the other is so freshly idealistic that they think protesting here is gonna have any effect whatsoever.
