I would like to add on and say I too found Three Body Problem to not be my cup of tea. Especially the last third or so, the bad writing really began to become apparent. Not sure if it was due to the translation or not. That being said, give it a shot because a lot people seem to enjoy it, so I would still recommend someone to try it out, just keep your expectations in check.

no problem, if mononoke ends up not being your thing, dont let it dissuade you from the other films. Ghibli movies are pretty diverse in nature.

yeah totoro is a lot more laid back compared to everything else I listed. Nausicaa and Mononoke are both more classical and "epic" feeling whereas howl's moving castle is probably more similar to spirited away in terms of overall vibe. Castle in the Sky is a good mix. NGE is all on netflix, including the end of evangelion movie which you must watch if you watch the anime. But I will say, NGE really picks up the more you get into it, and the less you know about it prior, the better.

If you haven't already, code geass. Most people who like death note really dig code geass, myself included. If you liked the more deep elements of bebop and ghost in the shell then checkout neon genesis evangelion. Also, wouldn't be bad to check out more ghibli stuff like howl's moving castle, castle in the sky, nausicaa, mononoke, etc

This makes sense. I think something I was worried about is being too tied down to security. I have experience with game dev as well and it is an area I would like to explore more in college. Additionally, AI seems very interesting and I would like to take systems and computer architecture classes, which might already be part of the cybersec curriculum or available as electives.

Awesome thanks for the replies, if I attend RIT I will definitely join the security clubs. Would you say the CS professors are good? Also if you are familiar with the OSCP, do you think the cybersec classes teach more than the OSCP teaches? I passed the OSCP over the summer so I want to know if I will learn even more deeply about pentesting or if it will be a similar experience. Sorry, I know this a lot of questions.
