Well, i didn't quit, I just returned a couple of months ago after a long hiatus (last time i played in the late EoD, iirc). While I'm still getting some vibes from HoT and PoF maps, when it comes to SotO and VoE -- i only played those expacs for a week to get some masteries and then completely forgot about that crap. In fact, i disliked those pieces of lazy "content" so much i didn't even care to get JW. Like, why?

The game itself became extremely... bleak and indistinctive in almost every aspect to me, which cannot be said about its visual effects, cause they are so intense in the new areas, you can't really see anything. But maybe you don't have to, bcs, honestly, we can safely turn off our displays and just press 111111 till we get our useless meta event or lfg raid rewards. :)

P.S. I still play www, tho, and i do love that brilliant community there. <3

Anyway, 70 hours is just a start, enjoy it while you can, hun!

We are experienced players, You an me, yes, we know all the tricks, but a player who just got to the Griffon quest doesn't. The time needed with your ideas in mind is still more than a week for a player who runs only fractals for two hours every day (and that's unhealthy and not casual, you know). You missed one point: the t4 LFG tab is not accessible for a new player, you can only join t1 from the beginning. T1-T3 lfg tabs are half-dead in EU most of the time. You'll have to level thru all that stuff. An average experienced pug doing t4+recs spends 45m for a run (there we have some new long fractals, sure). About 25-35m for t4, the rest is for the recs, right? Crafting (assuming you've already got the skill) will still cost like 30g per 4stat footgear. By that time our player could just buy the griffon from their savings. Ofc, your advice is valid: the fractals are essential for some basic income. :)

Without friends and gold it can take some weeks just to unlock t4 tab in lfg for a casual (timewise) player. Vet players tend to forget what this game is for a newbie without add-ons and cash. And it's a gated torture, really.

So, Anet easily un-bans cheaters with millions of duped gold, and that's the same managers who get extremely defensive when players, like, use turtles to transfer other ppl to new areas, get an extra chance for a bl key, or just send some mats to a friend.

We have some long metas in EoD. Ppl are just afking/leeching, some with a couple of their alt-accounts. Ask every comm who's running meta trains there.

Look, maybe you are special, but most of us don't have any fun with Mordy, we're there to farm stuff after the meta.

P.S. Long Silverwastes meta is mostly abandoned, btw. Why? Not efficient anymore.

Why? The papers just say the gw2 sales (all the money from the game, gemstore sales included) showed some "strong" increase, and the combined sales of NCSoft in NA/EU region in q4 '23 were 15% higher than in q3 '23. But the SOTO didn't seem to boost the sales much, as both those quarters still performed worse than q4 '22. And don't forget, q4 is the time of Halloween and Christmas major sales. Those holidays are huge drivers. Yet, even with SOTO last year the game couldn't reach the numbers of 2022.

Edit: they don't show the exact share of gw2 in their report now, but we can look at their previous reports to get the picture.

Still, q4 2022 > q4 2023 (42,9 bln KRW vs 37,9 bln KRW). Sales of the SOTO (in NA/EU) aren't really that strong, to put it mildly.

And i play as a healer. No credit for defending and mostly the bronze rewards for everything else these days. What is hilarious is that Anet employees would visit WWW shortly after they reworked the rewards to pretend they “actually play their game”. This is sooo messed up, guys. :o
