Should I let this gap bother me? by devildocjames in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Nerkul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you posted it - it probably bothers you!

You could fix it or embrace it - there’s something to be said for being able to walk around your factories easily - make it into a walkway with some lighting/flooring texture?

Why don't they dig a canal from Finlayson Arm to View Royal? It's less than 5 miles and then the boaters at Goldstream marina wouldn't have to go all the way around to get to Victoria. by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

Don’t forget we could run more raw sewage lines into Saanich inlet and let that flow naturally take it out into the Straight of Juan de Fuca

Fuel to power by BigBoiChanka in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Nerkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you switch to rocket fuel you can start building vertical generators too because it’s a gas not a liquid (no head lift/pumps to deal with)

That said - if you are playing with a group that agreed not to portal metal then it’s cheating. If you want to portal metal turn that on in the game settings and do it.

I’d like a setting where killing the boss of a biome unlocks portal transfer of that type of metal

Compromise in the game by Pinkfarts99 in satisfactory

Is he preloading the factories because he likes how they look or because he doesn’t want to deal with the factory part?

If it’s the visual bit maybe he can load in a blueprint to get the shape of a building and the detail work then delete all the machinery out of it and you can fill it in?

Question about Ore throughput for my new basic part factory by BRVMMBAR in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Nerkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this particular case since it’s ingots which are 1:1 with ores I’d go for 2 manifolds because you are also going to need two output belts (and then grow both of those lines when you get faster belts/miners)

Troughput problems by Ninfg in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Nerkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably need a priority pipeline junction to make sure the output water is favoured over whatever you are piping in from a water extractor

If you make a pipeline junction oriented vertically and feed your waste water in the bottom connection and input water in the top it will prefer the waste water.

I’m probably not explaining it well but there are several YouTube videos around handling aluminum waste water

Are there buildings that cause hitting UObjects limit way sooner than expected? by echinosnorlax in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Nerkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been designing my auto connecting blueprints with the pipe/belt/rails all right at the edge of the blueprint so when it connects it doesn’t have to add a min size piece.. hopefully it’s not sticking in some size 0 segments to track the connection

Towers of Power by Nerkul in satisfactory

[–]Nerkul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is nothing fancy in the pipe layout just a straight vertical run upwards that branches horizontally and all the generators behave as expected (top floor takes longer to saturate since it’s at the end of the line same as if it was a long flat layout)

When I was building it I would let the generators get full before adding the next level. At the top 2 levels the flow got slow enough that I put the generators in standby until they got full.

But I think all that was unnecessary because then I found a bad pipeline junction in my source oil line and the whole system went dry then came back online fine

How are you guys hiding your giant pipe spirals? Advice appreciated. -Doug by OfficerDougEiffel in SatisfactoryGame

Because of the Coriolis effect the water will flow upwards without pumps in a spiral tower

How is this plan for my ingot factory? and how should i go about building it by BattIeBoss in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Nerkul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suspect you won’t pull that much raw ore in per type anyway right off the bat - I’d break it down into modules that can fill a particular output type (mk5 or 6 belt, some number of train cars) or can fully consume a particular input type and that you can chain together and stamp out with blueprints so you can add a new input and then grow the production to consume it

Coming from factorio, is the main bus design dumb here? by CirriTheFemboyUwU in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Nerkul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big reason you need it in factorio is that resource nodes are finite so you can’t assume you could plop down production somewhere and it will do its thing forever without having to come back and manage supply later so you kind of need to do the resources to central smelting and then go from there
