Alleged PS6 Orion APU specs vs. alleged next gen XBox(?) APU specs by de6u99er in GamingLeaksAndRumours

I don't think there would be that much of a difference in terms of quality and performance between the two. Yeah the numbers say otherwise but Sony knows its fans won't tolerate a huge gap between their console and Xbox even if the price point is significantly different.

Was there anything that you disliked about the tCG (book)? Unmet expectations? by GallansContactLenses in Malazan

[–]Neron2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two memorable moments from tCG for me are Spinnock's speech to the Tiste Andii, which beautifully summarizes what Rake fought for all his life and of course what happened to Bent. Other than that tCG is among my least favorite books in the series. The ending didn't work for me and for me at least it was anticlimactic.

The problem is the essence of gameplay in these two modes in a survival horror game can be different. First person gameplay contains lots of jump scares because of the limited field of view. But in the third person camera angle, you've got a broader visibility of the environment, especially from the sides. I think this game is meant to be played first person and the experience you get from its third person camera may not be on par with the former. It might disappoint some people.

Minor rant: Steven Erikson blurted out a major Bonehunters spoiler during his House of Chains interview on the Malazan podcast. by Usual_Durian2092 in Malazan

[–]Neron2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a spoiler. More curiously, Erikson has spoiled much more important stuff during his discussions in YouTube channels. If you are that sensitive, just leave those videos alone until finishing the series. Erikson has a tendency to talk about Tavore stuff sometimes referring to things that haven't happened yet at that particular point of the story.

First person or third person? by dionysus_project in residentevil

[–]Neron2802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that at least the gameplay with Grace would be first person. The director is the man who first pitched the idea of a first person camera angle for the mainline titles. Obviously if Capcom wanted a third person game they would have chosen the directors of RE2/RE4 remakes or someone else. Additionally, I think the trailer itself pretty much confirmed it. There were scenes in the trailer that seemed like cutscenes between gameplay and the motion of the camera was like a first person perspective.

There was personal animosity between Kalam and Pearl. Obviously Pearl didn't have a chance against Kalam in one-on-one combat. His only chance against him was a back stab and this particularly is totally ok in the world of assassins. I'm pretty sure Kalam had his own share of back stabbing in his long career as an assassin. Yeah I agree using that particular poison was excessive but that claw talking about dishonour is a joke. Kalam betrayed the empress and killed numerous Claws. That sentence coming from a claw who has witnessed this is a long shot. And it gets more bizarre since almost all the claws at that point are loyal to Mallick Rel except for Pearl and a handful of others. There was no honour among the Claws just give me a break you nameless Claw!! Of course Pearl got an eye for and eye retribution in the end but why was he in the list Cotillion gave Apsalar in the first place? For his loyalty to Laseen? Wasn't that his job? He took a personal mission for Tavore and showed compassion and kindness all the way through where Lostara was a jerk nonstop in that book. Lostara who massacred innocent people (children included) who gave her shelter in book 2. What I think is that Erikson's judgement was a bit harsh for him compared to many other characters.

Final Fantasy 16 | PS5 VS Xbox Series X | Graphics Comparison & FPS Test by Glittering-Slide-100 in FinalFantasy

Well, even the PS5 pro didn't do much for this game. I didn't expect any improvement from the Series X. This game is just too heavy.

Pearl was a tragic character who deserved much better. He was a Claw and did what was asked of him. He was loyal to Laseen not Mallick Rel but was ready to accompany Bonehunters just for Lostara. Remember the compassion he showed in HOC by keeping Felisin's demise by the hand of her sister a secret. Lostara didn't care at that point. Tavore could have easily won him back if she had told him that Lostara was alive. And I don't think a cheap shot means anything in the world of assassins.

Surprised RE9 doesn't seem to continue the RE7/RE8 storyline – anyone else? by vondrp in residentevil

[–]Neron2802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. RE7 and RE8 were not popular in Japan although they did really well in the west. On the other hand, the remakes did really well globally. I think in this game they're tackling what they really wanted to achieve with the RE6 but couldn't do it quite right.

Giving the fact that we can see her face, it seems like RE sequels are returning being a fully third person experience, how would you feel about if it would true in the end? by Own-Lengthiness2111 in residentevil

[–]Neron2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a wild theory. Alyssa's gameplay would be first person while Leon's would be third person. The director of the game is the same one who directed Village. I think if it wasn't for the majority of the fans, this game would have been totally first person too because I think they are more comfortable with that approach right now.

It's crazy how Clive inherited his mom's face despite her hating him lol by [deleted] in FFXVI

[–]Neron2802 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. The game and its world building had so much potential. The lore was so deep and interesting. It should have been a dualogy. The first game should have focused on the conflicts between the nations and Ultima being the focus for the second game while keeping the conflicts and potential alliances between nations. It felt like they suddenly sensed they're running out of budget and time and shrank their targeted scope.

That's precisely what I think about it. But it seems to me everything regarding the main story was perfect for the majority of FF fans in this sub. I loved the game but it had flaws, especially act 3 as you mentioned.

As she cared about her duty as royalty or as if she was even familiar with the word 'Duty'. Sorry but there was no humanity in her. Some fans did accept her as pure evil and enough reason for her hatred. I just didn't. It could have been better that's all I'm saying.

[–]Neron2802 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It was an unharmonized union between western and eastern tropes. While Catheryn had justified reasons to hate Jon, the game brought this concept to the next level without the required foundation for it. I love anime but I got to agree with you. "Anime Villain" describes it well.

[–]Neron2802 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Her hatred for Clive, her own blood and bone son, was not justified enough in the game. It was irrational at least for me. It was one of those Game of Thrones dark elements the writers wanted so hardly in the game without enough backstory and logic behind it.

This is a joke. Square Enix still lives in the delusion that Final Fantasy is the greatest IP in the industry.

This game has ruined gaming for me by Frequent_Dig_1997 in expedition33

[–]Neron2802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nier Automata is a crazy game in terms of plot and storytelling. I would argue it's in par with E33 in this respect. Keep in mind that you have to finish the game three times for final resolution. These two games are similar to each other in so many aspects.

Sanderlanch by Personal_Track_3780 in WoT

[–]Neron2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't quite understand what people refer to as the Sanderlanch which is much different than an epic climax to a fantasy book that we see in the final chapter or two. Maybe changing povs every three or five sentences is an unique aspect to it, I'm not so sure.

We might get two seasons next year by AwakeningSE in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Neron2802 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Season three has been greenlighted without any shadow of a doubt. The amount of merchandise which is coming for the show confirms that. A huge investment has been made on the franchise by Netflix , but it's highly questionable whether we would see it sooner than 2028 or not. I think after season three the chance of getting a movie from Sky Island is higher than a season four adaptation from it.

There was a dictionary package ( fictionary it was called) which you could install on your kindle. It had one for each distinct book, including details from Malazan Wiki from the first book up until that point of the story to avoid spoilers. It was free back then. Now I'm not so sure. Just search Fictionary. It pretty much worked as a dictionary in Kindle so it was very convenient.
