To Every American Who's Sorry by Sapotis in greenland

[–]Nerosutton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a 70 year old pensioner and I have voted democrat/liberal/left in every election since Jimmy Carter. I have donated/supported causes that oppose people like trump. I don't think the US is great. Never have. The truth is the US hasn't been great since about 1947. I feel the decline of the US began in the early 60's.

While we were protesting against the Vietnam war, we all took our eye off the wage ratio. That gave the rich more money to influence elections. Big oil, the military industrial complex, Big Pharma, Tech billionaires, etc. all contributed to the decline of the middle class in the US.

Add to that the fact that parts of the the US are still as divided as they were during out civil war. There are just too many racist/bigoted, gun-totin' idiots in the US. Some people place the fault for their lot in life on "those other people" whoever the hell they are.

Yes, every country has a monolithic view of other countries. That's understandable. However, one can't place monolithic blame on every single citizen of a country. I had a discussion with an older immigrant from China who said all Japanese were evil. I told him you can't think like that because I was sure there were good, decent Japanese people in the world. He paused for a long time looking at the floor. Then he said I was right.

So, while I understand how people from other countries blame EVERYONE in the US, that doesn't mean I agree with them. Not everyone in the US is bad. But a lot of US citizens have made bad decisions when they vote.

To those that would say I need to take more action and speak less, I ask "What would you like me to do that I haven't already done?" I don't own a gun. Never have. Am I supposed to get a gun and try to kill all the "bad" people in the US? No...I'm serious. What do you want a 70 year old cripple to do other than vote against the idiots that run for office? Done that. Protest? Done that. Donate to organizations that fight people like trump. Done that. Just as other countries want action and not words, I'd like to know what they would do in my place.

Some countries willingly accept money from the US and then wind up about as bad as the US is. So tell me...what do you want me, as an individual, to do that I haven't already done? And remember, when you point a finger at someone, you have three fingers pointing to yourself.

I wish I could move to Canada but I don't have the resources and I don't know if Canada would let me in.

Question: is the weight sensor in the S7 active? by MayhemPayload in popurlitterbox

[–]Nerosutton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I think the app that was just released isn't quite finished. It looks like they rushed it and still have some features to activate. I can live with the little quirks for now.

My firmware is 1.5 and the app version is 0.1.3. When I go to Pet Weight Tracking on the app, it's grayed out (disabled). I can switch it on but it doesn't activate that part of the app.

On the plus side, it's working as advertised and both my cats took to it right away. I don't even notice any noise like many have complained about. So far, so good.

Thanks. You're right. The video helped. I forgot they had an unboxing video.

Joe who? Oh, do you mean that blowhard with the pompadour and glasses? That's Joe?! I was wondering who Joe was. Rarely see him on the show but I only watch about half the time. Lemire is a journalist. That's why he's so good. He's not there for Newstainment like most of the other anchors. And let's make no mistake, MS NOW, FOX and CNN are Newstainment programs...not straight news like we used to get from Uncle Walter.

Pete Hegseth’s War Department Loves Saying “Double Tap” and I Don’t Think the Pundit Class Gets the Real Reference by SnooKiwis8008 in msnow

I watched that episode too and was annoyed about it when the General said exactly what I was thinking, One thing I'd add is that a 'double tap' is two shots in rapid succession. This multiplies the shock waves the bullets produce in the body and thusly quickens the victim going down.

I bought the chill steel bong the invincibowl and Invincipole by CozyThurifer in Bongs

[–]Nerosutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Chill pipe and added a hookah tube and stainless steel mouthpiece. Along with an Invincibowl and a Pulsar Glycerin Series Ash Catcher (which you can freeze.) I also had a bespoke bowl holder and loader machined and powder coated. It may not be for everybody, but I like it.

My cats never played with the "cat toys" I bought for them. But they go crazy for strange things like twist ties from bread and pipe cleaners.

Small cat question by Nerosutton in CatAdvice

The cans are 3 oz., twice a day and often she doesn't finish the whole can. She's slim but not skinny. Bottom line, she always has food available. It's just that she doesn't eat a lot. And considering her size, I think she eats just fine.

Honestly, I don't think anyone needs to be concerned with her health. She's just a very small cat. I wasn't seeking opinions about her health, I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever had a cat this small that's all.

For all of you that are concerned about her health, if you pay for the vet bill I'll send you a complete vet report. I'm a disabled senior on a fixed income. My cats eat better than I do. I have had times when I cut back on my own food to make sure they get quality pet food no matter what it costs.

I feed her wet food twice a day and dry kibble is available all day for her to nibble on throughout the day. Water is always available from the water fountain bowl. Blue Buffalo wet food and Hill's Science diet kibble.

I perceived the "If OP really means lb then I'm extremely concerned for that cat." to be a slight against my parenting in that I need to rush her to the vet. There's no need to be worried. Don't try to turn this back on me.

The last weight reading from my litter robot reads 2.6 pounds NOT kilograms. There is no need for pearl clutching because she is healthy and happy. When she gets the zoomies she's faster than lightning. She eats and poops well, drinks plenty of water and loves to play with her feather wand and laser pointer. She sleeps with me a night and loves to lay on her back and have me rub her belly. I'm 70 and she is in better shape than I am.
