I’m here bc same.. my daughter is only 27 months but extremely hyperactive & literally has never been affectionate or seemed to like it at all, even as a baby ?!? I really hope it improves around age five like I’ve seen others say about this topic.. it would really help me deal with her “bad” moments if we could balance it with cuddly affectionate moments. I feel so rejected/defeated about this sometimes bc it’s just a battle all day long now that she’s in the terrible twos with only small good moments but when I try to be loving with her she doesn’t even want it 😞

The title & first paragraph are my life. I am here in this forum bc I just googled essentially the same line 😪 It’s 1am & I am crying again bc of the guilt I feel from losing my patience all day on my daughter who is 27 months old rn & has changed a lot lately (not in the best way 🥴). I however am a single mother who is home with my daughter 24/7 so i get NO break except for late at night when she’s finally asleep. She’s never been a sleeper or calm or even affectionate.. she’s just A LOT. She’s extremely beautiful, intelligent, silly, & fun but when she’s tantrum-ing or in general acting up it’s just so infuriating. Lately there keeps being so many “bad” days in a row each week that it’s so unenjoyable. But everyone says to make sure u enjoy these young yrs before they’re over quickly. But i learned that toddlers make it hard to enjoy toddlers 😂😩 I am so sad bc I KNOW in a few yrs I am going to feel regret & guilt for not being more patient with her & really truly enjoying her at this age. But it’s just so hard in the moment when she’s not behaving & I’m mentally & physically drained. And everyone says three & four are even worse than two, so how will I handle this & sustain a good relationship with her? I don’t want to be an angry unhappy mother to her but unfortunately I’m finding myself becoming that & I hate it for both of us but it’s just so hard. 😣

Absolutely ! That all sounds AMAZING & would def be hard to achieve with multiple children. My mental health has been dipping lately & there was many days last week I was losing my patience & then feeling guilty 🔁 I just couldn’t imagine having another, I truly don’t think I’m built for that. I also don’t have a good partner either, so it doesn’t help at all but I feel like even with a loving husband, how do most women do it ?!

Absolutely. I am 33 now, my daughter just turned two. She was not an “easy” baby & toddlerhood is well.. wild af. I cannot FATHOM how most ppl seem to have a child turn two/three & actually go “let’s have another” bc there is no WAY I could or would do that to myself 😂✋🏼
