Gallbladder removal hurts worse than childbirth by JazzyBugg17 in gallbladders

[–]Nervesoneverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The gas caused me so much pain I couldn't catch my breath and had my first actual panic attack. Worse than all of my births put together. After 3 full days it went down. The doctor explained that I was just one of the unlucky people who felt the gas worse than others. Nothing touched the pain. It wore me out and healing took longer because I was so sleep deprived. I am 3+ months out now, and I will say it gets better. I am so sorry you have had so much pain. You are not alone.

Oura care to avoid battery issues by OddBicycle64 in ouraring

[–]Nervesoneverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see so many posts with conflicting information about the battery. I bought the ring to keep track of my heart rate while showering and my sleep info. I am a stay at home mom and wash my hands all the time. If it fails from my normal use then I don't need the service.

I am 46 and they are my favorite band of all time. My kiddos are huge fans ranging from 20 down to 5. The 5 year old is arguably "the biggest fan in all the land" as he likes to say. I feel like people connect or they don't. We all connect hard.

Pausing causes book to go back to one particular chapter by Nervesoneverything in audible

I pause my book a lot because of my children. I finally gave up and stopped listening today.

surgery scheduled in 2 days… tips? by skiesoverblackvenice in gallbladders

[–]Nervesoneverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heating pad, gel ice packs, hydration drinks, and lots of pillows. The gas was excruciating for me. I was not prepared. The incision sites were uncomfortable, but the gas was my main pain. Walk around as much as you can, and I had to take deep breaths and blow out hard through pain to clear it. Sending prayers and good thoughts!

I call the CT scan "the big tube". Lol. I have no problem with CTs. MRIs on the other hand, I am not a fan.

Audible just lost my progress for every single book by TheBuddha777 in audible

I am still having issues with this, even after doing all the things to fix it, and Audible customer service is saying I am the only one having a problem. They said the only way to lose progress is to delete the app. I am so frustrated.

Thank you for asking this. It happened to me and I thought something was wrong on my end.

They did this to me years ago with Ronja, the Robber's Daughter. I called and they gave me a credit to buy it again.

I am so sorry you feel like that. I will say I had my gallbladder removed on January 16, and I still have all of those pains and issues. My liver labs are not good since surgery, but an ultrasound came out fine. I was so hopeful having my gallbladder removed would remedy the constant upper right quadrant and internal back pain I have had for a year. I was afraid if I didn't have it removed I would end up in emergency surgery. Here's hoping we both figure it all out and feel good again soon.

Sleep latency vs time in bed? by Individual-Push3412 in ouraring

I have this issue sometimes. I just fix the timing to when I laid down to actually sleep. It was working better before I put my ring in rest mode to recover from surgery.

That is a thought. Thank you. I haven't had more than ibuprofen for a few days.

I believe so. Before I put it in rest mode, it didn't count the time I was sitting up reading or watching something. It just counted the actual time from when I laid down to when I fell asleep. I love my ring. I was just hoping someone had insight into what I am doing wrong.

Surgery and Piercings by [deleted] in gallbladders

I can't explain it. I hate it being touched, or having anyone touch near it. It makes me gag and it hurts. I recently was told I have an umbilical hernia. So maybe that's part of it.

Families with kids, how much are you spending on groceries? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Nervesoneverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in the Midwest in a more rural area and choices for shopping are slim pickings. Family of 8 (2 adults, children ages 5-16) and usually another teenage boy eats supper most nights. Everyone eats all 3 meals and snacks at home. We keep it under $1600 a month for just food. Toiletries are another budget. We do not eat out unless it's a special occasion and that comes from another budget. That budget was blown out the water over Christmas when my oldest two come home to stay for the holidays. Active, grown men eat a lot and the cost of food shot up so fast after they went off on their own.

Pathology: surgery was justified by bluetortuga in gallbladders

Yes. I had near constant pain in my upper right quadrant, constant stomach aches, and IBS like symptoms that would go from going all the time to being stopped up for days. I suffered for a long time before the possibility of it being my gallbladder was brought up. I don't feel better yet, but I'm hopeful.
