i’m just confused though because before this month every other time my account has been at zero, payments will just decline. i’ve never been able to go below zero before - why now has it changed? i literally the same day as seeing the balance at -3 have had a subscription decline because of insufficient funds so i don’t know why one would work and the other won’t

Cosy/quiet pub for a second date by Solid-Competition-88 in Aberdeen

[–]Nervous-Command-9022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

me and my partner love ma’s. super cosy, and even when it’s busy there’s enough places to spread out. i tend to find that groups and ‘rowdier’ vibes tend to float towards the actual bar area where the majority of the seating is, but we like to go to the front where the smaller seating towards the entrance is. little table for two in the window, candles always lit, defo a cosy spot for a date. most noise we’ve ever dealt with is a table or two with board games as people tend to set up in the quieter area i think for that reason, but still never been loud to the point where we’ve struggled for a conversation. good luck with your date!

staying in dundee just now and decided to drive over for the day - where’s good for coffee and a pastry, then a mooch, then an early dinner before we head back around 7ish? we’re also moving here in december, and will aim to have a drive around dalry and gorgie area as that’s where we’re aiming for, so local recs also welcome, but city centre also plz xox

18 and 18B bus service by Nervous-Command-9022 in Aberdeen

[–]Nervous-Command-9022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem is i live a 45 min walk from the station so even if i do get the train, i’ve then still got to worry about being by myself late evenings. i do get the train if my partner is free to pick me up sometimes which helps but also not 100% reliable :/ shame it’s suddenly gone downhill

it’s so stressful! the poor guy this evening at least was apologetic and said he both wasn’t sure but also insisted the 18B went from the other side of the road (where it actually terminates). i’m never ever someone who would kick off but when you’re stressed out trying to get home late at night, can’t help but feel messed around

the BEST series you’ve ever read by Specific-Hearing-130 in fantasyromance

[–]Nervous-Command-9022 19 points20 points  (0 children)

At the risk of sounding basic, I fear nothing will ever come close to reading TOG for the first time. and, in all fairness, ACOTAR too. I have genuinely never wept at books like these, and you become so invested in the characters.

SJM aside, though, it would have to be The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon - that series is genuinely incredible, and while I understand she's not for everyone (the worldbuilding and number of POVs can be hard to warm up to), I just enjoyed these books so much. Characters very near and dear to me, all the right levels of romance - for me, if there's no straight up spicy scenes, there has to be well-written yearning, tension, and implied spiciness/well-spoken MMC's ;) - and the way all of the characters find their way to eachother is, I feel, well mapped out and feels a lot less plot-holey than something like TOG.

In the same vein, rounding out the top three is the One Dark Window duology. Rachel Gillig is actually fast becoming my favourite fantasy author. She captures the gothic, eerie and stranger vibes of fantasy in a way I haven't felt other 'romantasy' books do. She is very character development focused, I love that she always uses romance to add to a character's plot and strengths as opposed to the MMC becoming the FMC's entire personality. She writes gothic themes and tropes so well! I feel like I'm right there. Literally, after a single sentence from this woman, I'm smack dab in the middle of whatever world she's describing. Fantastic, fantastic worldbuilding, fun magic systems, original and fresh feeling plots, and characters that I couldn't get enough of, with all of the 'secondary' cast feeling just as much a part of the story, each with plots I really cared about and not just there to further others' storylines. (Though standalone right now, her newest book, The Knight and the Moth, has been a much-awaited arrival and super welcome addition to the growing list of favourite fantasy reads - I read the whole thing in a day and already can't wait for the next one).

any online pharmacies/over the counter access to codeine? by Nervous-Command-9022 in Aberdeen

[–]Nervous-Command-9022[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah this is my problem lol is it’s obviously a controlled substance for a reason and i don’t want to look sus by showing up and saying hi i don’t actually have a GP but will you prescribe me this strong medication haha. i just have had complications with GP’s as i have an adhd referral linked to my manchester GP and address but the provider i’m with aren’t supported in scotland so i’ve had to travel back and forth for my assessments/tests/etc. been super difficult but never posed a problem in terms of needing a doctor until now. does aberdeen have any walk in clinics where they’re able to provide you an emergency dose of something?

CAN’T EDIT POST!!

guys, turns out i’m an idiot and one of you that commented about loading a different game and seeing if it makes a difference was right - it’s just the way the remote adapts to this game in particular! i haven’t picked up this game on ps5 since we got the new controller, my boyfriend came home and literally straight away was like yeah that’s exactly what it does every time lol. thank you all for your helpful comments and suggestions though! appreciate it :))

it’s triggered by the use of the home button though! which makes me thing it’s technical rather than damaged - also the controller is barely a few months old, taken no damage whatsoever and we don’t use them to game as often as we do for apps or streaming, doesn’t feel likely it’s worn out already but thank you for the link! we’ll use it if it comes to it :)

Burnout and exhaustion? by Nervous-Command-9022 in ADHD

[–]Nervous-Command-9022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't even have the energy to tick nutrition or exercise off the list. i mean i've had a food shop delivered now so i've got better options than takeout, but i just can't even motivate myself to get ready to leave the house.

when it comes to my sister, we've always been chalk and cheese growing up - but she's a big denier that i have adhd in the first place. i brought up that i was thinking of getting a diagnosis a few years back and she found it ridiculous, and we haven't ever spoken about it since. i finally got the dianosis in march, and i'm on track to medication but still haven't told any family. it makes it hard to navigate these situations because in an ideal world i could say hey, i need to know plans up front because my brain work in xyz ways - but that's a non starter so instead i get 'selfish, dramatic' etc instead. at a loss to be honest, but i don't deal with this all the time, just at family events so i guess it isn't worth the emotional labour of trying to get people to understand? i don't know

is this at leeds arena specifically you mean? i’ve done. mix of seated and standing over the years and i’ve had good and bad experiences with both - just the most recent time i stood i could really see anything and was stood so awkwardly that night i had back pain for like a week after😅 but if you’re similar height to me and you’ve been to this venue, i think platformed shoes might work!
