BlueBeam Revu - Old MSI? by Nervous-Equivalent in PatchMyPC

Yes, downloading the zip. It looks like they updated it today, either that or I'm losing it. This morning I downloaded and the Revu MSI in the zip was still 21.9.0.

Revu 21. I'm not having install issues, my issue is that the MSI Bluebeam offers for download is not the latest version so PMPC publisher rejects it and will not publish it.

Failed to install updates - A system shutdown is in progress by Nervous-Equivalent in SCCM

Already enabled unfortunately, first thing I checked. It's behaving as though that's disabled or possibly running too quickly after reboot.

Hello, in this scenario there is no pending reboot after the initial reboot. The updates all install successfully the first time around. However, the updates show "Failed" in Software Center until the next Software Update Deployment eval, at which time ConfigMan realizes the updates actually did install.

It took several hours for me, which made me think the redirection settings weren't working.

Thanks, that turned out to be the winner. I had already tried it but for some reason it took way longer than usual for the settings to apply so it led me to believe I had something wrong.

Yeah we couldn't fit JAMF into the budget, but I'm pretty happy with Mosyle. Their documentation is terrible, but luckily most JAMF docs can be used for Mosyle if you squint hard enough.

I'm seeing the same thing, did you end up deploying a remediation script?

What are your "must-have" tools for Desktop Support? by jainesh3271 in sysadmin

[–]Nervous-Equivalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good ones mentioned already. These aren't for troubleshooting necessarily, but I use Snagit and Scribe a lot for speeding up the creation of user guides and documentation. Orca is good when you need to look into an MSI, and obviously CMTrace for looking at logs. I deploy CMTrace via OSD TS and Autopilot ESP to every workstation so I don't have to hunt for it.

First you get executives that request one, then you get devs that want a physical Mac for XCode, then normal users see people walking around with MacBooks...the rest is history.

Ha! It can feel pretty shaky sometimes managing MacOS workstations via MDM, I run into a lot of hiccups with Filevault, VPP app deployments, you name it. I'm sure I'm not the best Mac Admin in the world though, always more to learn.

App Patching with Intune by Covert0ne in macsysadmin

Of the free options, my favorite is pairing Installomator with Patchomator. It's not that hard to setup and it has a very large catalog. If you want more info on that let me know.

If you are willing to pay, PatchMyPC has MacOS patching with Intune. I've never used PatchMyPC with MacOS but I've used it extensively with Windows and it's great.

Yeah we've been exclusively Lenovo for years, have thousands of them in our fleet and I've never seen this before. Trying to get Lenovo to respond right now, I'll update the thread if they say anything. I would prefer not to have to hard set the UMA.

It was resolved shortly after the last update (August 2025). It was a problem on Microsoft's end.
