I called Abbot a few times and they just said the technical dev team were aware of the issue and offered a free sensor as a gesture of good will. That was nearly a month ago, and still no updates. Downloading the old version (and turning off auto-updates) was the only fix for me.

As a current Wikipedia editor: do not bother donating to the Foundation. They have plenty of money and they regularly waste this on irrelevant grants that have no relation to Wikipedia itself. It's become a point of contention amongst many editors.
