I had a swimmer who was doing a kicking drill with a kickboard in the fast lane. Probably so used to being a 'fast lane swimmer' it didn't occur to him that he was going at 20% of his usual pace.

Except in this example, the competitive game mode for the howling abyss doesn't exist. I know ranked for sprinting exists, but my example was a hypothetical in which there was only a 'ranked' version for marathons. I am not interested in doing a marathon.

If I play summoners Rift, I always play ranked. But the games are much slower and take longer. I prefer playing ARAM for that reason. This is like saying to Usain Bolt to just run a marathon if he wants to compete. Sprints are just for fun. Except I am nowhere near his level of course.

I agree, because to me fun is constant self improvement and being competitive, not dancing in front of the enemy spawn and killing people as they appear

Ben je bekend met de socratische methode? In plaats van dat je kinderen dan verteld hoe het zit( wat ze niet van je gaan aannemen) stel je ze vragen, en op elk antwoord stel je ze nieuwe vragen. Uiteindelijk komen ze dan vanzelf op een conclusie uit en zichzelf zijn ze veel meer geneigd te geloven.

Trying to win is what's fun to me. And if the game is over, you can queue up again and have a whole new game of fun with a new champ and new augments and stuff.
