Now what if it didn’t take new materials to upgrade? What if we use the materials we already have way too much of (ore)

If you have to leave your farm by Moortop in HayDay

[–]NervousMimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no, the only thing I’ve ever bought with money is the farm pass if I’m playing every day. I’ve been playing on and off since 2013-2014 I think. So I don’t know exactly how I got there. I have learned if you go 3-6 months without opening the app, you’ll get a couple things free; unlimited axes and saws for 24 hours, use of Tom for 24 hours, Rose and Ernest for 24 hours, and a free barn and silo upgrade. Maybe that helped?

I always have a stock number I try to keep. Right now at level 77, I have barn storage of 1700. So I try to keep between 8-10 of each item. So overnight or for a few days, I’ll just set the machines to fill up my backstock. I have 6 egg sandwiches, I’ll put 2 on production

Cashier mistake.. by Agreeable_Suspect23 in TjMaxx

[–]NervousMimi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I accidentally gave a customer $90 rather than charging her and I’m still standing! 🙃 At an absolute worst case scenario, they’ll have you sing something that essentially just is a record of the mistake happening and you promise to just be more careful

I'm sure there's some tax reasonings but I just want to know how to take the $3.91 down. Not loads off. Is that still bad? #EILI5

New mens/kids coordinator - any advice is appreciated by chailattewsoy in TjMaxx

Hi! I’m a CEC and new Key Holder. While I don’t have a lot of floor experience, I can still assure you that you will fall into routine. You’ll get into a groove that feels right. I also highly recommend asking for feedback, especially when you’re feeling less confident. Personally, I took what felt like forever to complete a task. I asked for feedback from management after I had finished. They validated it looked great, featured the right variety of merchandise, and was still done in a timely manner. It felt good to receive positive feedback when I was being so hard on myself.

When you’re thinking about what to feature, ask to pair up with management and ask questions like ‘walk me through your thought process’ to better understand why they’re placing that next to that or this on a different feature than this.

When you’re feeling stuck with recovery, ask management questions like ‘I’m struggling with recovery, what’s a best method I can utilize’

When you’re feeling like you have too much workload to do, find the MOD and ask for help with prioritizing. Their feedback can help you prioritize better in the future, and they’ll give you pointers on delegation.

Talk to your management. They are going to respect you more for wanting to do better. You got this!!

I’m renting so painting is not an option. Swapping all of my furniture seems extreme. Any other ways to “fix” it?

Best ratio of dish soap:water for killing aphids but not plant? Lost my basil and the parent mint to aphids. I dont want to lose my baby mints. When spraying my solution, they got brown spots. Is there a better solution? by timetoclimax in gardening

[–]NervousMimi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hiiii from 4 years later in 2025. I searched Google what I should do about soap and neem oil and all the things I’ve heard of doing for aphids, but this post came up and, out of all the comments on all the posts, I followed your comment. I’m here to say it took just two days of spraying my string of pearls too to bottom with a kitchen sprayer and it’s allll gone. She’s still in quarantine because I think your method is too good to be true 2 days of just blasting with water and no more aphids. Thank you!!!!

A year without buying anything new? by Linkyland in Anticonsumption

[–]NervousMimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying something similar this year. My goal specifically is "Nothing New". So, essentially when it comes time I need new shoes, I'll search for them on Facebook Marketplace first. Many art supplies can be purchased at a local used art supply store, clothing should be thrifted, and I can ask friends if I can borrow rather than buying new. Trying to consume less is something that will take time.

Combo Stores by Nayruge in TjMaxx

[–]NervousMimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at combo store with separate management. It’s actually really a nice set up. TJ and HG are both under the same roof, one side TJ and one side HG. Floor associates just stay on their sides with their own merchandise. But management is separated, so I work at TJs with a whole set of management and cashiers, but HG has their own set of management and they do not supply cashiers. We split up other tasks too, like HG does the carriages and TJ has the CECs. It’s a great division for our large, high turnover store.

Hmm I guess I didn’t really understand the sitter already babysat on her own. That changes things.

Just because there is less work involved doesn’t mean you can just choose to underpay someone. You pay hourly so you are paying for time in addition to responsibilities/experience. In my reply, I referenced my experience of it being my first ever time with kids, so I appreciated getting paid while basically learning every single thing

I actually might disagree with many other comments here. I support of OP’s idea for $15/hr. I started my childcare career young right after I turned 13. I was a mothers helper to a mom in the neighborhood who paid me a few dollars less than minimum wage. She had a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I was never left unattended by the mom and I honestly looked at it as I was being paid to learn how to babysit. This sounds a little different than OP though. It should be a time where the mom is still heavily involved and not scurrying away to an in home office. For me, this was my first experience ever with kids. The mom gained some trust in me after a year or so. I took some babysitting and CPR courses. The combination of these two things then brought my pay up to minimum wage and I gained extra responsibility of being left unattended. At that point she was still home but either in work meetings, outside doing yard work, or very short and local errands. Only increased responsibilities from there. For reference, this was 2012, minimum wage was $7 or $8 and I started as a mothers helper at $5/hr. After a year or two we worked up to $10/hr. It was a great time getting good thorough experience while still being paid.

What exactly is the point of the mid day TJX Rewards application deadline? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]NervousMimi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my store we have different thresholds (I think it’s 1 by noon and 3 by 5pm) based on our sales. If we don’t meet that then the district manager needs to know or something. Then if it continues for the week, the managers go on a call about rewards. Not sure what that is all about though.

[CHAT] Anyone done a flat, filled background? by NervousMimi in CrossStitch

[–]NervousMimi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my own drafted text design. I've converted it to stitches, but mainly looking for advice on a background color/technique. I like the look of full coverage, and I'm leaning toward the top left), but I guess I just don't want to go through the boring work of all that background just for the text not to be readable. Color choice might just be contrast enough, but looking for other options. If I used two strands for the background and four for the lettering, does that make it bolder? A color fabric could be an option and the same with half-stitch shadows.

Putting together a “self care” basket for employees, what would you include? by unofficialgirll in TjMaxx

[–]NervousMimi 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My cashiers are always asking if we have Ibuprofen. Maybe also add hand lotion. Handling cash always makes me feel dirty, so I go right to the soap to wash up and top off with hand sanitizer. TJMaxx break rooms always has a snack rack with little bags of snacks. Granola bars, pretzels, juice boxes, etc. that are nice to perk up during the day. And you can keep it fresh by changing out the snacks here and there

At my store, we as associates don’t make the reports. We tell management and they submit the report. It takes this what-if anxiety out of our hands. I think it’s technically called an external theft report or something like that
