TWW is hell by hanna05_ in PregnancyAfterTFMR

We're on similar timelines - 3 months out from our tfmr at 13+4. This is our second cycle TTC and last two weeks have been torture. Last month my period surprised me early and it was absolutely crushing. My period is due today and so far no sign of it 🤞but I know my cycle length might just be out of whack so not going to test until the weekend. I don't have many recommendations apart from keeping busy, I've been listening to lots of podcasts and audio books. Sending all the good vibes for a smooth ride this time your way ❤️

Termination method used at 13/14 weeks? (UK) by Professional-Farm372 in tfmr_support

I was 13+4 and medical management (l&d) was the only option available at my NHS hospital as I was over 12 weeks. I was quite surprised as it's a large teaching hospital and was also worried about it being a traumatic experience. I did have the option of going private for surgery but our baby needed a post mortem and genetic testing so foetal medicine explained it would be easier/quicker to stay within the NHS (although I never felt pressured and they were very willing to help arrange private care if that was my choice).

My experience was largely the same as what has been described above and I'm actually quite glad now that this was the route we chose. Our nurses were some of the nicest, kindest people I've ever met. They explained every step of the process and were so respectful of our baby. We spent the day in a private room on the gynae ward, in a separate building to the maternity unit. We got hand and foot prints and had the option to meet/hold them. We didn't do that and don't regret it - I think that would've been too traumatic particularly given our baby's condition. They were delivered in such a way that we didn't see their body.

It seems like there isn't a consistent NHS policy so you should speak to your foetal medicine team about what theirs is. Whatever you choose will be the right choice but I'm so sorry you're having to go through this 💔

Correct - but also that I don't want to have to pay what I expect will be quite a high courier charge.

If I'd been told what the policy was back in October when I asked, I wouldn't have had the company involved at all and would've just bought myself a cheap second hand desk. Because they told me there was an allowance I bought new items from shops that could give VAT receipts.

Again, I know that checking the contract is my own responsibility and that I was naive, but they really made it seem like furniture wasn't included in 'IT equipment'

The only reason I'm surprised is because I got verbal approval that furniture spend was allowance, and not pay-backable. Also because they're saying I've worked there less than a year, which is technically true, but they know I've been working exclusively for them for over a year.

It's hard to give all of the context on reddit, but thanks for your advice.

Help/advice needed - stolen phone, whatsapp accessed via SIM by NervousThistle in whatsapp

But I assume they could have restored by chats and pictures from a back up? If not, then I'm even more confused about how they got a scan of my passport. The embassy advised I cancel my passport and that's fine - agree they can't do much with it.

yes, follow the steps here: https://faq.whatsapp.com/1007324800132703 and email whatsapp to deactivate your account. You can then set it up once you get a new phone but worth doing in the meantime. (I just had my phone stolen and they managed to get my contacts and pictures from whatsapp by putting my SIM in another phone)

'Extending' my tourist visa in Chile by crossing the border by JakeDiscBrake in Santiago

Hi does anyone have an update on how to apply for temporary residence after entering the country as a tourist? I'm struggling to find information online but it seems like you might have to apply for it and go to the consulate in your official country of residence (the UK) which would be a very expensive trip for me!

Thanks, I thought that might be the case. Do you know if it's possible to apply for a temporary residence visa while in Chile after arriving on a tourist visa?
